Now that's a kickass police officer.
That's how every policeman should be, polite, courteous and friendly. It restores my faith to see people like this in service.

There are a lot of police officers like that one, it's just the bad ones that get all the attention.
Great cop. I think the guy filming just assumed it was all bad and needed to lighten up a bit.
Yeah, the cops seemed polite and courteous, but the guy filming seemed like kind of a douchebag. Saying stuff like: "It's my right" rather than "I have a carry permit" and refusing to answer questions until they were asked multiple times.
good cop
guy filming is stupid
Best cop ever.
Cop was cool guy was a dick
Why was the guy acting all mysterious?

Then theres guys that would take it away even though you prove you have a permit.
Seemed like that guy was acting like an ass in the hopes of catching a cop getting angry on camera or something. But the cop handled it very well and seemed like a genuinely decent guy.
Why would you not just tell him your name? He's clearly not in any trouble. The guy is a major dick for being so rude to the nice cop.
Why was the guy acting all mysterious?
Exactly as Tommo400 said above, the guy was basically walking around with his gun clearly exposed in the effort that he'd make a scene. He was hoping a cop would start doing something stupid around him so he could post it on Youtube and talk about "police brutality."
That's why the guy freaked out when the cop didn't get riled up but still asked for his name.
Okay, carrying a deadly weapon is a wonderful privilege, and it's great that we have it, but these dickwads who clearly wear a weapon in plain view exclusively to get attention and fuck with the police and scream "IT'S MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT YOU'RE INFRINGING MY RIGHTS AAHHHH POLICE STATE LOOK AT THE TYRANNY EVERYONE" as part of a political agenda make law-abiding, firearm-owning citizens look like fucking idiots, just like the three crooked cops give police officers the power-mad sleazeball public image. The best way to get our gun rights revoked isn't by letting them gawl-dern socialist nazi gun-grabbing liberals into political office, it's by doing this bullshit.
Maybe the kids at home can tell me which of these are appropriate responses to "why are you carrying a gun?", and which of these spits in the face of the responsibility that carrying a firearm entails:
A."For the protection of myself and others"
B."To deter would-be criminals from seeing me as a potential victim"
C."Because I can"
He didn't have a carry permit, it was open carry he is in California you don't need a permit for it it is your right.
(but you can't have the gun loaded, lol shitty Cali)

I don't see why California is shitty for not allowing a person to carry a loaded gun in plain sight. I mean hell, they already give the guy the right to carry it out in the open as opposed to some places that don't even let you do that.
Open carry laws are so weird in some states.
I know in Pennslyvania, where i live, i can walk down the street with an AKM slinged on my back and it's completely legal.
Why didn't he tell him his last name? Guy's a prick.
