tell that to the 'RUSS IZ DYIN' crowd
tell that to the 'RUSS IZ DYIN' crowd
You can't get anything through to that crowd.
god dammit it's true
god dammit it's true
Remember Adam cancelled Rust?
tell that to the 'RUSS IZ DYIN' crowd
"Garry banned me/removed my favorite exploit/ignored my dumb idea. Ignore the graphs that say player count is rising, Rust is DYING!" literally every single one of their posts in a nutshell
I just got Rust yesterday with a couple of friends, it's pretty good so far and it's still in alpha :v: Edit: No longer having a good time, I think my neighbour is plotting to capture and eat me, he's been watching me from a nearby hill for days.

I still want my free rust i was promised
I have no doubt it's a good game, but I bought it, loaded it up and joined a random server. Ran around a bit, had no clue what I was doing because no tutorial, died and quit. Never went back. Perhaps I ought to give it another go.
Edit: No longer having a good time, I think my neighbour is plotting to capture and eat me, he's been watching me from a nearby hill for days.
You're still talking about Rust right?
"Garry banned me/removed my favorite exploit/ignored my dumb idea. Doubling every year. At this rate, in just over 11 years rust players will out number humans.
Thats roughly $42,000,000 after valves 30% cut, not adjusted for taxes or steam sales.
You're still talking about Rust right?

Say what
I probably should have clarified I'm talking about Rust. I can only hope my neighbour in real life isn't plotting to kill me.
I'm happy for Garry's success.
I probably should have clarified I'm talking about Rust. I can only hope my neighbour in real life isn't plotting to kill me.
We know we're just kidding... at least I am.
More dosh for Deuce to get developed with.
I still want my free rust i was promised
I have rust free and it's not that good imho
I still want my free rust i was promised
My free account got deleted after the game moved from a browser game to a stand alone .exe because I was inactive. :v:
It's wild how much money this game has brought in, and it isn't even finished

rust was pretty fun when I got it at the last sale but man, i'd love facepunch if they got it to run at least a little better damn thing can't reach 60 most of the time. still, i understand optimizing is at the back of their priorities

It's no wonder that the first time you turn an idea into working code it might not necessarily be the fastest way for the computer to do it, times this by many times for many people implementing many things, then when they are either more seasoned or have had a good think about how to do things differently they came come back and make massive performance increases in tiny areas, then the culmination of all these tiny fixes ends up being the whole game runs a whole lot smoother. I often see bits and pieces in the devblog about this and that being optimized, and sometimes they are pretty substantial things considering only a small amount (probably) of code was changed. I a few months ago I played on medium and still got horrible performance and frame drops/stutters from time to time, now I can play the game on max settings and it works amazingly.
I can't wait for Rust to be good.
Optimization happens a little in every patch, and hopefully it'll become more of a priority when it leaves the alpha stage.
Exactly. Proper optimization is moot when you're adding features and changing things as much as they are at the minute. Let them get all the major features and assets in - then optimize that.
Optimization happens a little in every patch, and hopefully it'll become more of a priority when it leaves the alpha stage.
It's good enough for me that you see stuff in the devblogs. I really like reading how excited some people sound when they try to explain how they did a bunch of clever stuff which had xyz effect on performance, and even though its only a small change it has a much bigger impact on the big picture. I know the feeling and it feels like a tell that they are passionate about it. I look forward to Rust leaving EA because hopefully all the people crying about EA this and that will stop. Not only is it the best survival game available imo, it's one of the few early access titles that are actually done well and have very regular communication and a regular patching schedule (I love reading the devblogs in general) When I take a break from the game for a few months I'm always happy to pop back on and see all the awesome changes they have made...I first played 6 or so months ago and the game has only gotten better for me.
Rust needs to go back to browser, or stick to legacy. It was so fun back then.
