• Could this ram bottleneck my $2700 build?

Free ram came with motherboard. Could the low profile ram bottleneck? Just linking the main important parts of the build. Depends on what you do. For gaming and rendering i would say that is quite enough. [editline]1st July 2013[/editline] I got 4 GB of RAMs and i can still keep up with the latest games, only reason i would upgrade RAM is to avoid bottlenecking my PC while rendering in Sony Vegas
Shouldn't I getting something higher than DDR3 1600? like 2400? Motherboard supports it. And yes intense gaming. Also if you read about low profile ram some people say its slower. Is this true?

If you do go higher, make sure its 1.5 V or less, because Intel memory controllers don't support that. Aside from this, if all you are doing is gaming with that build, you probably won't ever drop below 60 fps on absolute max (assuming 1920x1080 resolution). Source: Every time I have recommended better RAM someone on this forum has told me its unnecessary. Literally every time and that's not hyperbole.
1600 is more then enough, don't worry about ram. Honestly, I'd consider dropping to 1333 and buying a little more instead.
Oops sorry I have it cut on on the picture but its 2x of those 8 gigs of ram, so i have 16 gigs.
Oops sorry I have it cut on on the picture but its 2x of those 8 gigs of ram, so i have 16 gigs.
In that case you're good to go.
If you're doing "intense" gaming, you should get an i5 instead. HT is going to cause performance loss in most games.
If you're doing "intense" gaming, you should get an i5 instead. I hope you realize intense gaming doesn't require all this crap. You likely won't ever drop below 60 FPS with just an i5-4670k, a single 780, and equivalent such other parts even on maxed out or very nearly maxed out settings. Not only is higher Mhz overkill you will barely notice, but that power supply is absolutely ridiculous. There is no reason to get that. I don't know how much you've cut out of this build, but $2700 on this is just not near worth it. Here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1cZsQ There's some realistic overkill. It probably outperforms your rig, and it costs much much less. I even managed to give you two video cards. That's $2,081 and all you have to do is add cooling and a case. In fact there's even this 1000W PSU for $80 off now: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-power-supply-rsa00spm2d3us
