The Pentagon issued a military-wide directive saying it was making an exception to its policy that generally bars troops from marching in uniform in parades. The exception was being made for San Diego’s Gay Pride Parade that will take place Saturday. The Defense Department said it was making the exception because parade organizers had invited service members to march in uniform and the matter was getting national attention. The exception is only for this year’s parade in San Diego and does not extend beyond that, the Pentagon said. Parade organizers welcomed the news. “San Diego Pride is honored to have the privilege of celebrating our country and our service members with dignity and respect,” said San Diego LGBT Pride Executive Director Dwayne Crenshaw. “The fight for equality is not over and it is not easy, but this is a giant leap in the right direction.”
I first read that as "Uninformed US soldiers to march in gay pride parade," and expected the soldiers to be surprised when they get to the event and see a bunch of half-naked guys dancing around
I first read that as "Uninformed US soldiers to march in gay pride parade," and expected the soldiers to be surprised when get to the event and see a bunch of half-naked guys dancing around
"Surprise tactics" upon your own troops?
I first read that as "Uninformed US soldiers to march in gay pride parade," and expected the soldiers to be surprised when get to the event and see a bunch of half-naked guys dancing around
Oh god what is this, why are we here, is that a penis oh jesus what are our orders
Oh man, Fox News'll have a riot with this one "US troops fall to the homosex agenda" Honestly, after their "OBAMA FLIP FLOPS: DECLARES WAR ON MARRIAGE", how absurd does that sound coming from them?
it's gay as hell what the pentagon is doing.
I first read that as "Uninformed US soldiers to march in gay pride parade," and expected the soldiers to be surprised when get to the event and see a bunch of half-naked guys dancing around
Shock and Awe tactics, of course
it's gay as hell what the pentagon is doing.
5 corners?
gay
Holy shit, even the military is on board now. Maybe this may put a bit more pressure on the Boy Scouts.
This is a really really big thing they're doing. They NEVER make exceptions like this.
Go military.
Isn't it kind of disrespectful to wear your uniform off duty?
Isn't it kind of disrespectful to wear your uniform off duty?
Not at all?
Good, good. These men and women put their lives on the line to defend ALL Americans, and it's nice to see them allowed to show support for groups they could not before.
Isn't it kind of disrespectful to wear your uniform off duty?
Depends on the occasion. I could see it being so if you wore it to a strip joint, but this doesn't strike me as a situation that paints the military in a bad way.
Holy shit, even the military is on board now. Maybe this may put a bit more pressure on the Boy Scouts.
Well they both are sausagefests.
Holy shit, even the military is on board now. [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] WHOA nevermind ive been lied to what the fuck [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] wtf DOD wtf !!!
Read the comments. Cancer.
I want to vomit.....

I am glad that I was in service at a time when homosexuality and lesbianism was barred from the military, politically correctness has gone way too far in accomodating everything, then there was pride in serving, today there is no pride in serving in the military.......

I feel exactly the same way; it's disgraceful. I couldn't put on my uniform and go to a public political rally, but now they can put it on and march up and down main street making out. Sickening.
I'll probably get dumbed for this but; I think it's a good thing they're opening it up somewhat, but a lot of this is not going to receive good attention. Gays are fine, lesbians are fine, all is fine. My opinion differs from others, and so many of those others are ready to cause violence. I suppose as long as they don't disgrace their uniform by putting things on it, or wrapping the universal LGBT or whichever flag(Rainbow) on themselves, it's fine? I don't know how too put it.
Isn't it kind of disrespectful to wear your uniform off duty?
Depends on what you're doing in it. Marching in a parade is perfectly fine.
Honestly the only things i've heard of the US military this year was all gay related. I think the media honestly wants us to think the US military is gay :v:
it's gay as hell what the pentagon is doing.
From the sky the pentagon kinda looks like a gaping anus.
Honestly the only things i've heard of the US military this year was all gay related.
Isn't it kind of disrespectful to wear your uniform off duty?
It's illegal, unless it's a military occasion.
The only thing that bothers me about this is that I was under the impression you were not allowed to be in uniform while showing support for a cause or belief. Isn't that why those two women who were breastfeeding in uniform in the picture got fired? If they're going to make this exception I can't see why they can't make an exception for them.
I thought this was already confirmed when were talking about ponyfags in the army?
Hear that social conservatives? It's that sound of your walled off world collapsing around you. Have fun.
I thought this was already confirmed when were talking about ponyfags in the army?
Uh, what?
It's illegal, unless it's a military occasion.
You haven't seen places that offer discounts to people wearing military uniforms?
