Somebody should have reviewed her speech. It degenerates so fast.
She seems like a nice person anyways.
Why does this video make me think of Hitler's speeches for some reason
why would she tell a story about a ford plant closing down and then say obama saved it if ford didn't take any bailout money
lol american politics make me laugh
She makes it seem like Mitt Romney could have done something in 2009. He would not be able to just save all those jobs, the only reason those jobs got saved was because the companies got stimulus and bail out money. Romney could not have done that as he was not the president. Hell he was not even CEO of Bain Capitol in 2009, he stepped down in 2002.

rnc and dnc this year were a competition for who could spew the most bullshit, apparently

He wrote an opnion piece for the New York Times in 2008 called Let Detroit go bankrupt, spitting on the place he came from.

I do not necessarily think that he would want to see it go bankrupt, but letting things go bankrupt gives you a wake up call. If you get bailed out every time your in trouble you are less likely to not get into financial trouble as you will get bailed out anyway. In capitalism you need to let shit happen, yea its gonna be bad but in the end it will be for the best.

It's really fucking similar actually. She speaks with a similar fervor.

I don't necessarily think it's bad. Hitler was a great orator. He sort of ruined speaking with passion and volume like that, sort of like he ruined the name Adolf.
She was a shit governor.
Great progressivist cheerleader, but she wasn't nearly as radical or progressive in her politics.

You know every time I see you posting you have nothing but shit to say about our state.
She was a lot better than our current governor.

What? I think that Michigan is an amazing state with amazing potential, but it's also heavily flawed and it's going through a shitty time the past decade. Every time our state is ever brought up here, it's because of something bad. Dick Snyder is by far soo much worse than Granholm, you are right, but that doesn't make Granholm good.

I wonder if there was an open bar at the DNC?
That's just a pep rally, reminds me of high school. Big deal
If people would just stop being so greedy this economic crisis bullshit would never happen. But no, you got employees and unions demanding from employers, outsourcing everything you possibly can so you can have 20 people do the work of 30 for the price of 8, storing your money offshore, hiring many lawyers to find as many holes that you can jump through when it comes time to paying taxes (Like GM in 2011. Paid NO taxes, earned 15 or so BILLION in revenue, AND they accepted bailout money) and then the regular american Joes; People buying houses they can't afford, charging everything on credit cards, including the previous credit card's bills. And then banks will turn around and actually sell those people's debt
And we wonder why we're in this situation
As far as I'm concerned, all these places that accepted bail out money can suck a dick. Especially the banks. It's a shit deal for the workers for the companies that would've gone out of business, but you're not going to fix the economy by maintaining failing industries at a loss. No business functions that way. We'd probably be in a worse depression, but too bad. No one's going to learn anything and this will just happen again because you've rewarded failing practices

I live on the west coast of Michigan, it's so fucking beautiful there. I literally walk outside and am in awe and all of the nature surrounding me. Don't let one bad apple (detroit) ruin the whole basket.

And swastikas, and pretty much everything else associated with him.

One bad apple? I lived in inbred hick county most of my life. Just outside of hick county was Saginaw. Near to Saginaw is Flint. I've spent a good deal of time in both, and in Carrollton. I now live just outside of Ann Arbor, and it's not so bad. Real 1950s style "small town". Ann Arbor itself is great, but I've also been to Detroit, both good and bad portions. Going anymore west of my location is sending you into Kansas. Which isn't bad in itself, but living in a backwards redneck town most of my life turns me away from the extreme rural areas.
You have two amazing places in the state: the West Coast, and the Southeast surrounding Detroit. Besides that, though, we have alot of shitty cities in desperate economic trouble and urban decay. Most of the the non-urbanized state, which is alot, that isn't north of the Bay is filled with uneducated, backwards conservatives. North of the Bay isn't exactly all that developed either (I have spent a fair bit of time around Traverse City and Au Gres area. Not bad areas by any means, but again, rather rural).
I mean, by no means am I saying it's a bad state. I rather like my state. It's just that it's not glorious, or even all that good, all around. Sure, we have our cities on the hilltops, filled with glory and progressiveness and whatnot, but most of the state isn't that. Sure, we have the amazing nature, but then we also have all kinds of backwards people living in it. I wouldn't want to live anywhere but Michigan, because it is an amazing state with amazing potential. I think that we have a good cohesiveness and a cultural bond. But that doesn't excuse the fact that 5 of some of our major cities have been in the top 15 worst crime-ridden cities in the United States for the past 10 years. It doesn't excuse the fact that the entire state outside the hilltop cities are decaying and poor. It doesn't excuse the fact that our politicians are shit, and that our people are either too stupid, too uneducated, or too uncaring to do anything about it. We have terrible education, terrible economic conditions, terrible living standards, terrible unemployment rates, etc. But it's Michigan, and it is what it is, and I don't mind all of that. I'm seeking to make people aware of it, and change it.
tl;dr
Michigan has a shitload of problems, but it's a cool place in the right areas.
The Solution is to dump the Tri-City area of Detroit, Saginaw and Flint off of Michigan :v:
I still think Grand Rapids is one of the best cities in the Mid-West though. Can't wait for ArtPrize.
Goto Ludington they have some of the best sunsets in the nation plus we just got some windmills
