I've seen a lot of tutorials on these and wanted to have a go at one on my own. What do you think? http://dupree2008.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/rocknrolla-movie-1708.jpg - Original
You made stuff pop out, isn't that the only point?
As mentioned in the title, yes. I also tried my best to un-fade the gun barrel and resizing.
Looks uninteresting and out of place in my opinion.
As above. But it's better than your obama filterrape.
My Obama piece was a complex design, don't disrespect or my home dogs will bust a cap in your ass. How do you suggest I make it more interesting, considering what it is.
I dunno, be creative about it? It's your work, should be your ideas.

Sorry but that looks like the guy has a 3 meter arm and a HUGE gun.
at above: It's called foreshortening you mook. You should really go and apply a wall to your face cause that was one of the dumbest possible things to say. @OP: Great job for a first, I can really see how you achived the good effect and kept a good crop with everything important. Exept I don't. Doesn't deserve a thread. The borders on left top and right should be of same width but you went like "noooo, fuckall" and did this. Actually all you did was simply crop the image. And badly. First you left some blokes face in. Even tough the composition feels a tad better it's still an absolutely minimum work done. Like literally 3 minute photoshop. The gun should have a gradient from dark to light outside in not like it is before cause it looks backwards.
I'm a little confused at that, I didn't just "crop the image", I actually made new layers for the parts that I wanted to pop out, moved the right border across and snipped off the rest of the image then resized the title text and used perspective on the arm. I'm not sure what you meant by the border width, I didn't add that effect, it was already there if you bothered looking at the original. You did have valid points there, I should of payed more attention to the little bit of head on the side and the odd gun-shading was a result of my awful attempts at reducing the fade. You're right, it probably doesn't deserve a thread, but I'd rather you didn't pass my work off as a "3 minute photoshop". Ooh new layers. Shiny. They're mandatory anyway.
Ok.
Oh and fix what is broken. That top line worked cause the image was stretched out. Yours isn't.
The gun popping out of the side takes all the attention, witch it probably shouldn't
