Hey guys, I've been working on a remake of an older painting I did about a year ago for a Spring Show thing my school has annually. I submitted it along with some other work that I had posted here before under the name trueWolF..
I also wanted to record this, but It had slipped my mind to start my recorder by the time I was done with the line drawing, so that's from where I started taking WIP shots for you guys :)
And here's the painting.

Here's the WIP slide show:

Critique would be cool, cause if this gets accepted into the spring show it'll be hung at a gallery for a while, so I'll definitely need to know what to fix up on this.
Nice dude...
this one has a COMPLETELY different feel from your first one.
I like parts of it and I dislike parts of it.
don't feel like analyzing what I do/don't like right now so hit me up on steam.
Since when pirates became pornstars?
Since when pirates became pornstars?
you object to this?
oh buy the way...... barely out of the profile true, BARELY...

I take it that the revolver is intentional (since there weren't any in the piraty days).
I think the clothes need to appear a lot more translucent (the white clothes, not the bra)
Pirates were cool.
It looks unfinished. The only thing that's really "done" is her skin texture. The shirt, hair hat and her trousers look unfinished and it gives the picture a messy feel. I know I know, messy can be good, but here the mess stands in a bad contrast to the more finished aspects.
Just asking, is that cut on her arm really that big? Because it looks like it would take almost half of her arm right into the bone.

Thanks :)

Well female pirates didn't exist either.

Yeah I lazed out after rendering her skin, I finished this 1 hr before the submission deadline, I will definitely start working on the rest of the painting. thanks.

Yeah it's meant to be a really deep and harsh cut, just to amplify how badass she is for being able to hold that gun still and is about to shoot with that arm.

Thanks, which right strap, I shaded both sides a bit.
Amazing
thanks buddy
Damn, you've gone some way from the vagina cave.
I'd say the cloth is tad undefined and feels unfinished compared to everything else. Also it feels too light, like it's hovering over the shoulders.
The inconsistent black outline is disturbing, it's 'round the hand, 'round the head somewhat and then not 'round rest of 'er.
Also perspective on the boards seems a bit sewed. Hang on, i'll chekc with a ruler.
Jup, there are like 3 or so different vanishing points. Also i'd say you pay more attention to background detail. Boards could use some more wounds by the wheels of time. Overall everything in the background is just tad too clean for 'em rusty, garbling, grogg hoggin' plunderin pirates, arr?
[editline]08:55PM[/editline]
now gotta wipe me screen clean from all those markers.
[editline]08:55PM[/editline]
Can anyone reccomend me some good paint-dissolvent?
Thanks for that, although the boards aren't really out of perspective, the only 2 boards out of perspective are the ones in the foreground, on the sides of the boat she's on.I added it last minute and didn't match it up to the perspective of the floorboards of the dock behind her.
But yeah, everything else I agree with it, I rushed the clothes and the background way too much.
And not sure why though, I like having some kind of linework appear throughout my pieces, on the face I have it so it can separate her distinctly from the background and as well as the hand with the gun. I think I might add some more line work in there to show a bit more consistency.
Thanks again.
I love the rip in the sleeve. The skin tone kinda creeps me out though.
What kind of revolver is the revolver revolved around?

Thanks dude, any suggestions as to what could help the skin out a bit?

The revolver is revolved around revolving revolvers
the color of her skin makes her look a bit like a zombie.
