Hey guys, I have been on a workout schedule lately. We have a nice workout room at my house with a TV, DVD Player, DVR, and now Blu-Ray with Netflix. Obviously, my favorite thing to do to break up the mundanity of exercise is to watch movies. Of course, I can tear through one movie in about 2 or 3 days so I am always looking for new ones, usually based off of whatever interests me at the time. Recently, I have taken an interest in Medieval and Roman history, and I was wondering what are some good films based in those times?
Ridley Scott's Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven (Extended Cut) are both pretty good.
James Bond :GoldenEye. Favorite movie ever.
Ridley Scott's Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven (Extended Cut) are both pretty good.
Saw Gladiator already. Definitely one of my favorites.
GoldenEye
Medieval or Rome styled stuff please. Besides, I never really liked James Bond movies. Could never get into them.
Why not watch TV shows instead? Shorter then a movie so you could probably watch an episode a day. Stuff like Rome, Spartacus and Game of Throne(Doesn't really count as a Medieval/Rome tv/movie but it's still very good.) might catch your eye.
Medieval, eh? A Knight's Tale. It's a bit anachronistic (okay a hell of a lot more than a 'bit' at certain points) but overall is very entertaining. There's also of course the Lord of the Rings movies but I suspect you've seen them already. For shits and giggles you could watch Evil Dead 3 and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Robin Hood is okay if you're looking for a Medieval Theme. Definitely watch Kingdom of Heaven's Director's Cut. It's a great movie. I haven't seen The Eagle, but it fits in with the Roman theme, so you may want to give that one a try as well.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0349683/ it has clive owen. sold. if you haven't guessed already this is a recommendation. though the experience could have been made better by the fact that i had been swimming all day and was sitting in the comfiest chair on earth drinking straight hard liquor.
Watch Rome the TV series, honestly You could get through either half an ep or a whole episode each session you do, and it's movie quality, one of the best series I've ever seen.

The room is a good one
by "Medieval" what do you actually mean? I could recommend Braveheart and not be entirely sure you'll like it. [editline]21st September 2012[/editline] The Seventh Seal maybe? [editline]21st September 2012[/editline] also Spartacus and Troy. [editline]21st September 2012[/editline] also you might be interested in Aguirre, The Wrath of God.
Spartacus definitely.
Shit, AK'z beat me to Braveheart. That's one I do recommend, as well as King Arthur.
