batman vs batman gets wet
Now that's the remaster I was looking for. Can't wait to play through Arkham Asylum and City again.
The environments looks better, but there's still a lot of missing effects. At 4:10, snow flakes don't land on Bruce's back, and Penguin's monocle isn't foggy looking. Also the hair still looks terrible. It's most noticeable in 4:34 and 4:45
For someone who has never played these games, I think I might pick this up.
Don't suppose the PC is getting any graphical updates. But do nude mods make up for that?
Pretty sure the pc versions looked closer to ps4 than the ps3 did. This is really something more for the consoles.
Looks like a decent upgrade. Doesn't show any improvements to PhysX, though. I remember how they used to flaunt the cape physics all the time. I still think the old games hold up just fine, but these would be a worthy addition.
Sucks that the PC versions are mostly unplayable.
I ran Asylum, City, and Origins on my old 650 at max settings just fine, I don't know what you're talking about. Knight is the only one that is poorly optimized, the other ones were fine.
Sucks that the PC versions are mostly unplayable.
Asylum should definitely be playable on most of the machines at this point, City a bit less, Origins has meh optimisation, and we don't talk about the infamous Knight.
The only real problem with Asylum on PC is that the frame rate stutters for a second when moving between certain areas. City suffers from the same issue, but because it ditches the Metroidvania structure for an open world, it's much more noticeable. On many machines, it's basically impossible to keep the frame rate completely smooth when gliding between sections of the map, as the numerous Steam user forum threads detailing this issue can attest.
Sucks that the PC versions are mostly unplayable.
i can run asylum, city and origins like cake on my nvidia 560m. it's knight that has the shit optimization.
The Joker looks better on PS3.
Joker looks better in the Original, and Harley Quinn's face model looks really different compared to the Original version.
One thing they don't mention is that the reason the cutscenes look worse, but gameplay generally looks better, is because the cutscenes were originally pre-rendered in Arkham Asylum/City but are in-engine in this remake. It means they'll look much better in terms of fidelity, but are going to be missing some more advanced effects (reflections/particles are especially noticeable). IIRC the original prerendered cutscenes were in 720p too, or at least that's how they looked on the PC versions.
Half of the cinematics have worse lighting and aesthetics compared to the original, which is really weird.
All of the characters look better on PS3 but the environments are better on PS4. Just look at Batman's face on both of them, PS4 has less detail.
A lot of the initial backlash against it was because the screenshots compared to the highest settings of PC rather than the console versions. In which I still think the PC versions look better
A lot of it looks technically superior, but they completely blew the mood lighting in many of the scenes. That really is quite a shame.
