David Murphy, 49, had tried to intervene but was stabbed in the head.
Mr Leahy's murder followed a similar knifing at the nearby Captain Cook pub on February 14.
The licensee's son Lee Lumb, 29, suffered four stab wounds to his neck and shoulders after another row with Michael.
The killers were also convicted of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Mr Murphy and Mr Lumb.
Michael and Farrant, who had been placed with his father by Kensington and Chelsea social service, had moved to Barking from Notting Hill, west London, last December.
Judge Brian Barker ordered that Michael serve a minimum term of 19 years and Farrant a minimum of 14 years for bringing "disruption, violence and death" to the pubs.
The judge told the father: "You led your son into situations of terrifying aggressions rather than leading him away.
"You bear most of the responsibility and must bear most of the blame."
Judge Barker told Farrant he had been placed in a situation where his loyalty to his father had led him to join in.[/quote]
