For quite some time (about 4 weeks-ish) I've been working on my elective, which is the half life zombie. Today I ran out of allocated time (basically I've got to work on over stuff now) and so it has reached it's completion. Ideally I'd liked to have made some claws for it but time is a bitch ain't it?
The main cavity is adjustable both on the X and Y axis with the use of ladder hooks and buckle clips. The main part of it is made from latex and backed onto canvas. The lungs are made from furnishing foam and the ribs are made from high density foam.
The headcrab was designed so that it could be worn on your head and able to stand up by itself, thus a compromise was made, so that's why it looks funny as his legs are sticking out. It is able to engulf the whole front part of the face and sit accurately like the half life zombie in-game. The headcrab is again made from latex and the legs are made from high density foam.
The t-shirt has Velcro squares along it and it has Velcro along the chest cavity (not yet attached in the photos). The bottom of the chest cavity is designed to be tucked into the pants (although not shown in the photos)
(jeans and steel boots aren't part of the costume just my everyday scenic wear)
If you want any more information on how I made it or if you want any painting/prop related questions answered fire away! Enjoy!
C&C?

Hooooly crap that's awesome.
That is amaaaazing good job!
woah, great job!
Can I set you on fire :3:
Thats amazing good job!
Add a voice modulator on the headcrab, so you sound like one when talking.
Also, add mirror-based goggles on the legs, so you can see while wearing the headcrab.

Sure, if you want to pay me for all the materials and labour
:saddowns:
That is awesome! Question, can you see out of it when it's on your head?

I was thinking of having a little monitor and a spy camera built into the headcrab, but mirrors could work just as well.
EDIT:
no you can't see shit whilst you're wearing it HA
That is brilliant!
Show Gabe, get Valve goodies.
The problem is that for it to fully work you'll have to look up while wearing the hat on your face constantly

Didn't read the above posts.
should make claws just so it can be complete. And Halloween costume? I think so!
pretty amazing
You should definitely be doing make-up/special effects in films.

Holy shit.

Maybe if it was a zero budget film. This isn't even 'low-budget film' quality. It's lumpy and sloppy and somewhat inaccurate.
But it's pretty good for something like a cosplay or 10th grade art project-ish.

Indeed. It's cool, but TBH this kinda stuff would probably get made digitally nowadays.
Especially when you could just base it on the HL2 zombie model's pre-existing geometry.
lumpy and sloppy? Elaborate...
I should have mentioned that the zombie from half life is NOT anatomically correct as the ribs are out of alignment and there are non existent organs. My zombie is a compromise and has accurate human anatomy whilst introducing attributes from the half life zombie. Whilst it does look bare, it was done so intentionally as I've got organs and bits to add, like this:

I have also never done anything like this before, so sorry if it's under par to what you usually expect...
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww you're making me squirm so I'm gonna say you're doing a great job.
Needs a bit of green dye in that blood.

Don't worry it's much darker in reality, too much exposure me thinks.
