It actually used an exploit in call of Duty modern warfare servers so he basically could use all the dedicated servers infinity ward had to take down networks. The problem was known by infinity ward but they just refused to fix it and to be honest I think you can still take advantage of it today.

He was one of the earlier people to take up amplification attacks (mostly DNS amplification and gameserver amplification). He also had a few servers which he launched syn floods from.

Just pointing out that Seth wasn't the one that developed the IW server exploit, but he certainly acted as a middleman for its sale and usage. Either way, good riddance.
