The 3 contenders are: Tokyo, Japan (who has that huge radioactive problem) Istanbul, Turkey (who is next to Syria, Iraq, Iran) Madrid, Spain (who has somewhere around 23% unemployment) Watch presentations and the result here: http://www.olympic.org/2020-host-city-election Right now Tokyo is presenting now
Tokyo, Japan (who has that huge radioactive lizard problem)
(fixed) And actually tbqh I think Tokyo would be the best choice, out of all of them. And Fukushima is QUITE far from Tokyo.
(fixed) And actually tbqh I think Tokyo would be the best choice, out of all of them. And Fukushima is QUITE far from Tokyo.
Radioactive water is leaking into the ocean which can make that distance quite small.
Now they're talking about Fukushima
Fuck it; Mogadishu or Detroit.
turkey would be pretty cool because my family is near there
Host it actually at fukishima, get these guys, olympics improved by 1000x Edit : I do actually think Tokyo is the best option.
Now they're talking about Fukushima
I don't really like how they have been skirting around the whole issue. [editline]7th September 2013[/editline] Next is Madrid
Radioactive water is leaking into the ocean which can make that distance quite small.
The situation in Japan is being overly exaggerated by foreign media. It's nowhere near as bad as you're making it out to be.
Radioactive water is leaking into the ocean which can make that distance quite small.
im in england and im already growing a 3rd arm!!!!! damn you japan!!!!!!
Radioactive water is leaking into the ocean which can make that distance quite small.
cmon this isn't the Daily Mail there's no need for nuclear scaremongering.
If it's hosted in Tokyo, they better have Norio Wakamoto on the PA System.
cmon this isn't the Daily Mail there's no need for nuclear scaremongering.
That is all that i have been hearing over here in the us recently but they stopped with that crap after syria so i have no damn clue whats going on over there anymore
I'd personally like Tokyo.
Radioactive water is leaking into the ocean which can make that distance quite small.
please go back and get your GED
Radioactive water is leaking into the ocean which can make that distance quite small.
And this is why chemistry and physics should be mandatory.
I'm all for Spain getting it. Seems like it would be a great revenue booster/job creator for the country.
Istanbul, Turkey (who is next to Syria, Iraq, Iran)
Istanbul itself is nowhere near those countries.

Wouldn't unemployment drop for Madrid if they hosted it, even if just temporarily? It would bring a lot of business and you would have the Madridians busy building a new arena/hosting the tourism.
Radioactive water is leaking into the ocean which can make that distance quite small.
The pacific ocean is large and things move around.
Wouldn't unemployment drop for Madrid if they hosted it, even if just temporarily? It would bring a lot of business and you would have the Madridians busy building a new arena/hosting the tourism.
True, but going by what I've read, a large chunk of it is also on the taxpayer's dime, so if it's not properly managed (as smurfy's pointed out) they could end up in some Athens 2004 level debt, which is a huge risk to take, especially in light of Spain's somewhat rocky economic weather over the past couple of years.
In regards to Fukushima, Tokyo is more than fine, and safe. I can say from personal experience.
My money's on Tokyo.
The decision is all over the news in Japan right now. I would bet that it's going to be Tokyo as well.
The decision is all over the news in Japan right now. I would bet that it's going to be Tokyo as well.
No, all candidate cities/countries will be breaking into anything to air the vote and result now because the vote is about to begin.

Even if the Spanish government doesn't profit in the long-run. At least some people can put food on the table for a few years while they do whatever they need to do to get ready.
please go back and get your GED
what's a GED
