A photo of a Subway Footlong sandwich shorter than a foot is causing controversy for the giant sandwich chain. (Matt Corby / Facebook / January 18, 2013)
No more missing inches: Subway says that never again will a Footlong sandwich meet a ruler it can’t match. In the company’s own words: “We regret any instance where we did not fully deliver on our promise to our customers. We freshly bake our bread throughout the day in our more than 38,000 restaurants in 100 countries worldwide, and we have redoubled our efforts to ensure consistency and correct length in every sandwich we serve. Our commitment remains steadfast to ensure that every Subway Footlong sandwich is 12 inches at each location worldwide.”
I'm sure this has gotten quite a few people fired :v:
See, this is why I always get my sandwiches on flatbread. There's no way you'll ever end up with less than a foot.
Finally, I can put a whole 12 inches in my mouth.
I'm sure this has gotten quite a few people fired :v:
Or rather it will START getting people fired.
Finally, I can put a whole 12 inches in my mouth.
Who doesn't want to shove in that extra inch?~
It's okay Subway rep, its not like you're the first person to exaggerate about your length.
i swear to fucking god they better get it exactly 12 inches
This will actually affect my life since I eat around 2 times a week for lunch at subway
That extra inch of bread doesn't really matter that much. The base of the sub whether it be the pre put together cold cut meat or tuna scoops or meatballs or whatever, that's always put on in the same amount from what I've seen, I'd imagine one of the many Subway workers here on FP could confirm if it's mandated. So it's not like you're losing anything that actually makes up the inside of the sub like the meat or the veggies, just a bit of bread on the end. I get the whole principle of it because it could be called false advertising, but it was blown far out of proportion.
Damn, I forgot to measure my sandwich today. Any excuse to talk to that cute cashier :v:
Damn, I forgot to measure my sandwich today. Any excuse to talk to that cute cashier :v:
Until she thinks you're a complete arse for measuring your sandwich and complaining about it.
Any excuse to talk to that cute cashier :v:
"can you measure my meat sandwich"
I seriously cannot decide if I like Subway or Quizno's more
they should give us an extra inch for pain and suffering!
Twist: All the sandwiches are 12 inches and a half inch.
I always thought it was an anti-baker's footlong.
I seriously cannot decide if I like Subway or Quizno's more
I've only ever seen a Quizno's once here in the UK, which was outside Embankment Station. Wish I'd got round to trying it when I lived in London.
Fuck I feel like subway now. Haven't eaten there in like two years now.
Finally, I can put a whole 12 inches in my mouth.
I just love when the sandwich artist slides his meat in between my buns
We freshly bake our bread throughout the day in our more than 38,000 restaurants in 100 countries worldwide
wait what I thought most subway stores got their bread from somewhere else (that's what some subway employee said in the last thread about this) are they bullshitting again?
wait what I thought most subway stores got their bread from somewhere else (that's what some subway employee said in the last thread about this) are they bullshitting again?
they freshly put frozen bread in the oven
11.5 inches sued for 11.5million
wait what I thought most subway stores got their bread from somewhere else (that's what some subway employee said in the last thread about this) are they bullshitting again?
Don't you ever see them putting the bread in the big ovens? I'm not sure if they make the dough but they definitely bake the bread fresh.
Don't you ever see them putting the bread in the big ovens? I'm not sure if they make the dough but they definitely bake the bread fresh.
I live in Santa Fe, Argentina. I've never been to a Subway.
Believe it or not, this is actually the exact same marketing I've been using in my personal life!
An extra inch? Fucking finally...
I live in Santa Fe, Argentina. I've never been to a Subway.
There are Subways in Santa Fe, in Rosario. Two there, actually, but then again I've no idea how far away that is from you.
