According to a new study exploring the interrelation of language and emotion, if a word consists of letters typed with predominantly the right hand, it is felt to be more positive in meaning; a word typed predominantly with the left hand is associated more with negative emotion.
The study included speakers of English, Spanish, and Dutch, both left- and right-handed, but all users of QWERTY keyboard layouts. Even made-up words like boshe, cheethe, plake, and throog were given value judgments that aligned with how they'd be typed.
What this seems to mean is that the everyday action of typing on our keyboards has infiltrated how we perceive and feel about the world.
Accordingly, the saddest story ever written is "Dexter Weaver Serves Breaded Crested Grebe" by Dallas Wiebe, which he wrote on only the left-hand side of his typewriter in the 1960s. An excerpt follows:

Absolutely not, "lol."
I'd certainly have said that typing changed the way we thought, but not thought of it in that way.
PC video games have a negative connotation because people typically use their left hand with the left side of the keyboard.
Typing has changed the way I spell words in my head. I think of myself typing on a keyboard and it actually helps correct my spelling.
This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read

So you don't even read your posts?
This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read
After reading the article I think it's fair to say this was clearly typed with your left hand.
I write AND type with my left hand, but seriously, this is completely silly.
it doesn't matter what hand I use, words are words.
Because I really check the positions of letters in words on keyboards to see if I like them or not.
I don't really believe this article.
Also, even if I did check the letters, I'd prefer things written on the left hand side, being left handed.
Watch typing wars begin right in this thread.

It's not like you do it deliberately. It's sub-conscious.
knob
care
bomb
punk
I'm sure there are more.
I would say typing makes me thing of words differently, but not in that way, more in pattern recognition.
Like if someone wasn't familiar with the qwerty keyboard layout and saw the typo "mive", they mightn't realise the person had intended to write "move".
That and the double meanings and puns that acronyms, leet and chat speak introduce.

Unfortunately the reality does not ask whether you believe in it or not. It just is. It's a bit foolish to dismiss a valid study based on nothing but your own unsubstantiated beliefs.
"Wheeeeeeee"
Happy and typed with the left hand. Now what.
"Wheeeeeeee"

piss
I find this strange considering the fact that keyboards were designed so that words were predominately typed with the left hand.
Well, interestingly enough, I make common typing transposition errors when I'm writing
Kill.
Yep, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
A good number of studies like this are badly verified. Don't get your panties in a twist.
The only thing I do is try to use control-z when I'm writing with a pen or pencil.
I wouldn't say it's changing anything, unless you're a teenage girl, in which case you won't stop saying "LOL WTF OMG" in real life instead of actually reacting or laughing. Or shutting the fuck up.
I type on my keyboard upside down.
Figure THAT one out, "science!"

Wow. That's impressive. Why? :(

it's under the desk, and he freehands it, typing with his dick exclusively.
Thanks to the way I type I now mentally replace "what do I do?" to "wat do?".
I once smacked a kid for saying "lol" in person... so yes the newer generation are thinking differently because of typing.
writing sonnets more or less changed the way i think, Now i think in poetry and dramatic tension and it can get really funny sometimes.
Yes. Sometimes when I'm writing S's I accidentally write a D. Not kidding.
