My computer will end up freezing on just about anything, but at random. I havent overclocked anything, my temps are good and low. Its been going on for a while now and i havent been able to find a way to fix it. So can some kind soul on facepunch cure my frustration?
Specs-core 2 duo E8200 processor at stock speed,
GTX 260
4gig ddr3 RAM, Patriot (if the brand matters)
and a foxconn g4mxe-V motherboard.

Can anyone help out please? I really need some help.
Make sure all drivers are installed and updated. Same with any background programs (AV and the like). Also check the Event Viewer for any errors.

I Updated all i could, it only hangs on games now. Can anyone else help out?
A pic of HWMonitor please? Might be your PSU.

Lol suggesting Hardware monitor for getting voltages. Use a multimeter.
He probably doesn't have one and he probably wouldn't even open up his PSU..
Here you are more dumb, and you can also get some of the voltages from the sensors. We do not need exact voltages, you know?

No, you are more dumb. You don't have to open a PSU to get voltages with a multimeter.
All you have to do is unplug it, then short ground and the sensing wire with a paperclip and then test away from the motherboard cable. Alternatively, just use the multimeter on the machine while its plugged in to get load temps, IE sticking the pointy things into the PSU 24pin male connector. Yes you do need exact voltages to test a PSU, if they were way out of line then his PC would not boot properly, or boot at all.. PSU's require 5% maximum difference to be considered up to spec, HWMonitor reports my 12V rail as 11.0V, a vital inaccuracy.
Does it freeze your computer completely? Do you have to open task manager and terminate the process?
yes it freezes completely, Nothing , and i mean NOTHING works. It freezes on whatever i was on last, and whatever noise it was making gets louder and repeats.
Either HW is incorrect or your -12v and -5v are way out.
somthing is always incorrect when i use one of these programs, im not sure what makes it incorrect.

Oh, another thing, Today i had no freezes. All was good, i shut off the computer after i was done using it. And now hours later, i tried starting it up and said windows failed to start and went through the windows repair thing. If it...
- Loops last sound(s) that were being played.
- Leaves screen in a state where it displays one seemingly random color until a hard-reset.
- Requires a hard-reset in order to return to reboot normally (As in hold down power button until power down and reset button doesn't fix it)
...then I have a strong belief that its the graphics card's fault. (Especially if it is a GTX 260 Core 216) My dad had the same card which would randomly crash in games where sudden effects would occur such as explosions in L4D. We replaced the graphics card with a newer model recently (GTX 560) and the problem has not resurfaced since.

Yes, that is my card, but it doesnt show one random color, it will just freeze on whatever i was doing, Like google chrome, or whatever game i happen to be playing. It started happening after i installed my motherboard and RAM, though. I have not had any of these freezes before i installed these two things.
Open up the event viewer and see if Windows throws any critical errors.
