Adobe after effects help- Can someone tell me how to put an image over a video?

Hey guys, I'm doing a mole day project for chem class basically a easy A, the theme is Molar Eclipse so I wanted to have the 2001 a space odyssey opening and place a picture of the mole growing with the earthrise and the numbers flying out. So I loaded up After effects and realized that I have no fucking clue what to do. I mean I have the .mp4 and the image but how to I put them together.
Not really the place for this kind of thing, but you drag your video file and image file respectively into the layers area toward the bottom of the screen. Make sure your image is above the video on the list (because the image is going to be above the video layer in the composition)

yeah I'm sorry about that, if a mod could move this to the correct area that would be appreciated
but after I do that, how would I go about scaling it up as the video progresses?

Like as the camera in the movie pans to show the earth how would I make the mole grow with it?

nvm I got it thanks
Just a tip for future reference
this is less of a AE thing, at least IMO
I would have done it with Premiere/Sony Vegas, as you aren't doing mattes or greenscreens

Agreed, Light editing calls for Premiere or FCP otherwise its just a waste of time and more of a headache when rendering etc
