Well I am going back to Afghanistan to serve again next month. It's really a 75% chance I will go. I'm praying to God I will survive this time. This will be my 4th time serving. I'm pretty sure I'll be okay, I'm in an M1A1 Abrams Tank, But you never know what will happen. Well pray for me. I will make another post a few days before I leave to update you all. EDIT: Okay sorry people, I don't know what I am going to be in, M1A? Abrams Tank. Last time I was over there I was in an A1 as I stated below.
Turn every single terrorist to boobies.
Are you like Linelor
Tank is better than being a footsoldier :p
Much love from a Canadian naval member.
Thanks for your service. :patriot: It's the patriotic one, sorry if it's not your flag.
Oh Allah thy almighty, slay this wicked infidel who dares to enter the holy land of Mohammed. Naa I'm just kidding, have fun :D
An M1A1? What the fuck are you doing in the A1?
Stay frosty! All joking aside, stay frosty.
Tank is better than being a footsoldier :p
Yea, but all the Insurgence fire there guns at us thinking they are doing something. Then all I do is load the gun then hear and fell the gun.
Turn every single terrorist to boobies.
I will turn them into vaginas
Op is lying, M1A1 is not used in active service anymore
pick me up some weed they grow out there, that stuff is pretty amazing
You're going to be OK. Don't worry so much.
An M1A1? What the fuck are you doing in the A1?
Well thats what I was in last time (Years ago). Unsure about this time. But I'll find out when I get there.
Survive this time, you died last visit?
Op is lying, M1A1 is not used in active service anymore
Okay so it's not just me. I was pretty sure even the oldest A1's have been upgraded now.
Op is lying, M1A1 is not used in active service anymore
Yes it is, they anticipate it will be in use until 2050.
Survive this time, you died last visit?
Zombie soldiers, best there is.
Well thats what I was in last time (Years ago). Unsure about this time. They are just gonna stick you in a new tank with completely upgraded electronics and expect you to learn it in the field. Preeeeetty sure crews are attached to the tank in the same way that pilots are attached to their aircraft.
Okay so it's not just me. I was pretty sure even the oldest A1's have been upgraded now.
Umm, they've been using M1A1s since the beginning of the war haven't they? Surely they're still using them.
Yes it is, they anticipate it will be in use until 2050.
The M1 platform will. The A1 variant has been phased out in favor of the A2. Making it the M1A2 Abrams.
My first thought, "Didn't they stop using the M1A1 and replace it with the A2?". After reading the replies, I now think the OP is a troll.
Survive this time, you died last visit?
Yea I am dead. Haha. Sorry if that was confusing
GunFox, we're talking about US Military logistics.
The M1 platform will. The A1 variant has been phased out in favor of the A2. Making it the M1A2 Abrams.
Does that mean there are no longer any A1s currently in active service in the middle east? Has it been phased out completely, or in the stages of being phased out?
According to Wikipedia: "Approximately 6,000 M1A1 and M1A2 variants in both Army and Marine Corps inventory."
Does that mean there are no longer any A1s currently in active service in the middle east? Has it been phased out completely, or in the stages of being phased out?
I know A1's still exist, but I've largely been under the impression that they have been mothballed for the most part. I've seen one or two show up in pictures from 5 or 6 years ago, but none since then. But maybe we really are retarded and still field them. I can't imagine why. We have more upgraded A2's than should ever be necessary.
Get an AK for souvenir.
Avoid dying and shoot some terrorists.
