There are few things that social networks love more than rounding up the chatter surrounding a big event, and the Super Bowl is certainly no exception. Twitter, Facebook, and Google have pulled together the top searches, tweets, and coversation-starting moments of the "big game," and what's surprising is the variance in trends across different networks. On Twitter, the unexpected power outage generated the highest volume of tweets during the game itself — more than 231,000 tweets per minute (TPM). Ranking second was Jacoby Jones' 109-yard touchdown return near the beginning of the second half; it generated 185,000 TPM. Just trailing that for third place was the actual conclusion of the game, which generated 183,000 TPM.
It was kind of neat seeing people that were there live tweeting along with the broadcast, of which you could pick the camera you wanted to watch the game from, and in glorious 1080
Second half was worth it. Some of the jokes during the power outage were pretty good, too
"The lights went out on the 49ers half an hour ago" got a chuckle out of me

My personal favorite was "the lights were being maintained by Manti Te'o's girlfriend"
I'm really glad that outage was nothing more than a fluke. When it first happened I was worried it was a terrorist attack or something. Call me paranoid, but I was watching the Dark Knight Rises only a few days before. I can see why it generated so many tweets, especially those coming from those in the stadium.
I gotta say even as someone who only generally watches football if its on at work or on the superbowl, this was a fucking awesome game
So many crazy plays (field goal kicker suddenly running towards the end field?! Didn't work but was still awesome and risky... giving SF 2 safety points just to buy time as the final seconds were counting down?), a new record (108 yard touchdown), the power outage, some awesome moves by the players (jumping over a dogpile to get those few extra yards), etc.
Was a lot of fun to watch with some friends and such.
