The bad news is that no major Nintendo releases made the Top 10 list of best-selling games. The only Nintendo presence on the chart came from Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2016, with the Wii version selling the best against other consoles (yes, the original Wii).
Nintendo have sold 21 million Amiibo's worldwide since their release. Sources: NintendoInquirer Gamenesia AlwaysNintendo
That's great and all, but...why is there a Dark Samus amiibo?
That's great and all, but...why is there a Dark Samus amiibo?
print more money
too bad that the cool ones get bought up by scalpers and sold at 500% markup i was kinda hyped getting my favorite characters but with this bullshit, hell no
I didn't really think they'd be my thing but now I have two and want more :v: They're really nice figures for the price.
The only Amiibo I own is the Samus one. It's really nice, but I'd wish they used a different pose. Might get the figma for that, though. [t]http://i.imgur.com/RDcfYE6.jpg[/t]

Otherwise I've noticed the harder to find ones are beginning to show up more in stores except for a select few (Jigglypuff, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, etc).

I know someone who has a massive collection of them. He just has them in the packaging inside a glass display case.
That's great and all, but...why is there a Dark Samus amiibo?
it's a custom that they used instead of a regular samus amiibo for some reason.
My friend has all of them, there are loads of foreign languages on his shelf too because he had to resort to ebay for so many.
aaaand I own 20. I don't even have a wiiu. I just like statues.
That's great and all, but...why is there a Dark Samus amiibo?
Recolored, probably.
too bad that the cool ones get bought up by scalpers and sold at 500% markup i was kinda hyped getting my favorite characters but with this bullshit, hell no
It wouldn't be such a problem if they weren't produced in such limited numbers, since they just do one production run of each character and that's it. It's really just a scalpers wet dream, a product that's in high demand but with a very limited run.
My little brother got an amiibo, and yeah, they turn out to be actually really nice little statues. For people who are in to figures it's no wonder they sell so well. Hell, I want a Shovel Knight one.

Hell, I want a Shovel Knight one.
Aside from being nice solid figures, they also are on-disc DLC which is pretty stupid. Although, in most games it probably wasn't a huge chunk of time. The only ones I think are ridiculous is when they add huge things which obviously cut into dev time and the only way to get it is via an amiibo. For example, they add full maps to Mario Party 10. That's ridiculous. In Splatoon they add challenge missions which, aside from the squid amiibo, are just the single player missions with another weapon. The squid one adds some others like giving you limited ink on a level that is covered in invisible platforms. Still reusing a single player level, but a bit more than a weapon swap. Luckily, the compatibility is fairly high for most of the major characters. I've used my silver Mario in: Smash Mario Party Mario Kart Super Mario Maker Animal crossing amiibo festival is the "too far" line in my opinion. Compared to Disney Infinity or Lego Worlds, they're a MUCH better deal though
I only have the Splatoon Squid Girl one, but it's pretty nice quality for sure.
I thought it was illegal to print money. Looks like Nintendo found a loophole.
I thought it was illegal to print money. Looks like Nintendo found a loophole.
To be fair, they learned how to print money with the DS and Wii. They just rediscovered the method. Also can I just say how happy that Yacht Club delayed their shovel knight amiibo release so that more will be produced? Because I think Nintendo needed to do that with all their amiibos- all the stories i hear is them being outsold so soon, and that's sad because I like them. Ah well.
I'm a fan of Nintendo games but I've yet to buy any. I don't like figures/figurines and they don't seem that useful.
The Villager Amiibo had some huge ass eyes. They fixed it, but now he has a forehead the size of Jimmy Neutron's. I can't win. I just want a good looking terror tyke figure.
Compared to Disney Infinity or Lego Worlds, they're a MUCH better deal though
You're thinking of Lego Dimensions. Lego Worlds is that Early Access Lego sandbox game on Steam.
I kinda wish they planned the poses beforehand, and put all characters in a way where they don't need additional support.
I kinda wish they planned the poses beforehand, and put all characters in a way where they don't need additional support.
For the Smash ones, the poses are from the character select screen. They only have the extra support because they are being marketed for kids, but bought by adults. The figures in the E3 conference had little to no extra support.
