• EA on PC: "may become our biggest platform"

I'm sorry, who was it who said PC Gaming was dying?
Electronic Arts sees lots of room for growth in the PC market, which may become the publisher's biggest revenue generator, according to EA Games label president Frank Gibeau. "The user base is gigantic," he told Gamasutra. "PC retail may be a big problem, but PC downloads are awesome. ... The margins are much better and we don't have any rules in terms of first party approvals. "From our perspective, it's an extremely healthy platform. ... It's totally conceivable it will become our biggest platform," he added. "If you look at the way people play in Asia, PC is the model. I think that free to play model is coming to the west in a big way."
Isn't that nice of them :unsmith: Full source here.
I'm not going to like EA until they stop charging for multiplayer on preowned copies.
I'm not going to like EA until they stop charging for multiplayer on preowned copies.
Seriously? I mean come on of all the reasons. who the fuck buys preowned games except people below the poverty line
They won't see much growth until they stop charging 60 Dollars for Download copies.
I think that free to play model is coming to the west in a big way.
I wouldnt get your hopes up too soon people, by 'biggest platform' I guess they mean they want to start pumping out F2P games with overpriced cash shops, then carry on with their $60 cookie cutter console games :colbert:
we aren't totally forgotten, this brings me heaps of joy
I thought the computer was always EA's biggest platform?
I'm not going to like EA until they stop charging for multiplayer on preowned copies.
Yeah, on pc you can't even buy a preowned copy. Their shit makes sense. It's like cdkeys on pc, but on consoles. And you can buy a pass to play mp for less than full price, so what's the problem?
I'm not going to like EA until they stop charging for multiplayer on preowned copies.
That's justified, if you buy second hand then you aren't paying EA for their servers, therefore you're getting something for free that everyone else paid for. So you shouldn't be hating EA for simply wanting their servers paid for.
You people seem to forget that EA mainly produces shit, ( such as all those fucking sports games) or failing that turns game series that were previously good into shit ( such as command and conquer).
I'm not going to like EA until they stop charging for multiplayer on preowned copies.
baaaw i'm a cheap person who buys my games from the pre-owned section from gamestop/feeds off my friends by borrowing their games
Seriously? I mean come on of all the reasons. who the fuck buys preowned games except people below the poverty line
People who don't want to pay full price for something that will last about a day.
I'm not going to like EA until they stop charging for multiplayer on preowned copies.
So I guess you absolutely hate valve, you can't even sell your steam games / buy them preowned.
Pff, technically, developers don't even need publishers like EA any more to publish their games on platforms like Steam. There's a reason why indie games are on the rise lately.
Finally they got their heads out of their asses. For a moment there, I thought they were going to alienate PC audiences. because of "pirating" and other bullshit excuses.
EA vs. Activision This year's winner: EA Next year's winner: Activision 2013 Winner: EA ...And it just goes on.
We all know that valve is the real winner.
EA vs. Activision This year's winner: EA Next year's winner: Activision 2013 Winner: EA ...And it just goes on.
I'd choose EA over Activision any year
You people seem to forget that EA mainly produces shit, ( such as all those fucking sports games) or failing that turns game series that were previously good into shit ( such as command and conquer).
Anyone I know that calls their sports games shit doesn't even like sports, I'm assuming you've never played one. Are they all good? No. Are they fun with friends or if you LIKE SPORTS? Sure.
Seriously? I mean come on of all the reasons. who the fuck buys preowned games except people below the poverty line
Why would you not? I bought a used copy of The Darkness for PS3 recently (since I had never played it) for 9 bucks. If I bought it retail I would literally be a massive idiot.
as long as they mean proper games not farmville style casualfests this is a good sign
Seriously? I mean come on of all the reasons. who the fuck buys preowned games except people below the poverty line
I'd rather pay $20 for a game than $60.
I'd rather pay $20 for a game than $60.
I'd rather pay 60$ for a game than 90$ :colbert:
Maybe if they fix all there badly ported games they can hear me say something positive about them.
baaaw i'm a cheap person who buys my games from the pre-owned section from gamestop/feeds off my friends by borrowing their games
Hey buddy, there's nothing wrong with borrowing games I mean why would I buy a game for its single player, if my mate can sling it my way for a week or so to play. :colbert:
baaaw i'm a cheap person who buys my games from the pre-owned section from gamestop/feeds off my friends by borrowing their games
I used to buy only used games (im poor) but lately I started feeling bad so if I have to pay a little more AI will as long as gamestop doesn't get all the money.
I used to buy preowned games during the PS2 era, before I had a job or anything. I normally just buy games new though, these days because I can afford it.
You people seem to forget that EA mainly produces shit, ( such as all those fucking sports games) or failing that turns game series that were previously good into shit ( such as command and conquer).
I like EA Sports games :saddowns: Only reason I still have a console
