What's the purpose of having this sub forum anyways?
We can have argument but sometimes a place like this will end up not having any debates at all. I say this sub forum might be a waste of bandwidth and debate area is best left for fast threads.
But then again, if fast threads or general discussion be filled with debate forums, it might pollute the place with arguments till the very end.
So is this Mass Debate sub forum really such important to us Facepuncher when we already have fast threads?
In my honest opinion, we don't really need this place.

It'll keep debates in debates. Rather than having some large half-ass debate thread on how we dislike bronies when the original thread was about STALKER or something.

I like it. It kinda helps people get a bigger view of things even if they agree or disagree.

Honestly, we can finally get all the honest debates here, and we can take the stupid ones out of their respective forums and leave them here to die. "OMG IS PC GAMING IS DYING!!11!!11!" won't be seen in GGD any more because it belongs here. The religious debates will be here. The global warming debates will be here... all in all this takes a lot of the thread hijacking and drops it here. I like it.

I definitely think this has potential since there are a lot of things I am not informed about and would like to see people talk about topics and see where i stand on said topics
Mass debating is a good enough forum title to warrant any topics.
Sensationalist Headlines was pretty much the debate forum. Though perhaps with this new forum, arguments will be more well thought out and with topics that are clear and interesting (rather than debating over some shitty fox news article).
If all goes well, reading threads here will be pretty insightful.
Yes, definitely. It keeps the news and the debates separate, it's much better.
Also, this will leave more room for shitty news puns in SH.

This forum is needed like the furry forum is needed. It (hopefully) keeps threads out of everywhere else.

what's needed is for posters that contribute nothing to a discussion to get out, if you see what I mean
I thought this thread was going to get locked a la the last one. If this is staying open, then I can say, yes, this is a good idea, keeps the extremely common rage from Sensationalist Headlines here.
It's a place to debate on a particular topic and base an entire thread on that, as opposed to in GD where debating seems unlinked and spread across several "off-topic" commentary. It also stops people from going all out against a single person on a particular topic, as in a debate everyone can contribute and not be afraid of being banned for it.

Stop complaining, and stick to the sections that you normally post in then. Then its like this isnt even here!
I still think rules should be critically enforced here. If they become lax, it will be just like sensationalist headlines all over again. If people are stating "fact" and can't back it up with evidence or argument, then they need to be banned.
its facepunch, every thread has debating in it, its what we do as members, now we have a place for it, hopefully it calms the shitstorms in other threads
I like it. It's an addition to the forum I'll probably actually post in rather than lurk around. It opens a possibility for intellectual debate. (lol intellectuals on facepunch!?) Which is awesome.
