Good to see that this is still getting worked on!

i don't know the Kuratas they sell is basically rich guys toy, they have a warning on the video for it that the cockpit may catch fire if it tips over :v:
:snip:
they were showing the robot when it was about to land in slow motion. then they switched to another camera angle?

anyways soon the robots will look like this

It looks pretty stable under punches even when standing.
They really need a better pilot restraint than just that car seat, probably something with support for the calves, neck and head.
Also what if they added some sort of explosive air discharge thruster to help counter the punches preventing tipping.
Good to see that good ol' Garbage Bot is still holding on. I'm surprised by it's ability to stay up after under repeated impacts. I wonder if military-grade glass used in chopper canopy would be of any use against the paintball of doom.
Why have the delicate cockpit as easily the most exposed, underprotected part.
These guys must've also designed the male genitalia
japan is gonna destroy these guys
one good hit from this thing and the delicate thing that is the Kuratas is going to be toast, or at least severely crippled, unless it's more sturdy than it looks
i'm really enjoying the classic arms race of speed/agility versus brute force though - the fact that it's a stereotypically sleek and hi-tech japanese robot against a stereotypically crude and rugged western robot just adds to it and makes me wonder how a russian contribution would look

You have two options then, really thick Polycarbonate laminate glass that'd probably have to be 2 to 4 inches thick in order to absorb the blow (But will probably start cracking and may obscure vision).
Or ALON (i.e. Transparent Aluminum), but it is expensive as fuck:

Its probably better that they just stagger/layer thicker version of the metal mesh with maybe a thinner polycarbonate window behind it to act as a Whipple shield.
I'm so excited that this is happening! Is there a time when its time to throw down?

Then you realize that most of the Japan Mech's parts are unprotected and entirely exposed unlike the Megabot.

So its basically Inner Sphere v Clan mechs, because Clan mechs IIRC in the fluff have a tendency to catch fire if something goes wrong.
I remember trying to find any other videos on the Kuratas and it was only the promo video they released awhile ago
kinda wanna if it's capable of anything remotely resembling combat - as of now it just reminds me of a giant mecha animatronic
how a russian contribution would look
The Russian version would just be a T-55 with robot legs taped on.
