I love this game so much
What the hell is up with the recommended videos?
Spookier than ever (I also love this game, maybe way too much to be replaying it at least twice every year)
this is rare concept footage of playing as alma
i never really liked fear all that much except the kicking and the shotgun because if your shotgun does not make people explode or fly across the room, something is wrong
The gunplay is FEAR was phenomenal, and still feels great after all of this time. It's a fun game to re-visit.
The speedrun is pretty great, too (starts at 4:20)
i never really liked fear all that much except the kicking and the shotgun because if your shotgun does not make people explode or fly across the room, something is wrong
Its the only way I play. Pop infinite ammo on it, shotgun only, no slomo, and watch the bodies...hit the floor... And hear replicas go AAAAAAHHHHHHH
it was dam good game shame the sequels didn't get what made the first one creepy
it was dam good game shame the sequels didn't get what made the first one creepy
I always thought FEAR 1 was creepy, and FEAR 2 was horror, but the first one was still the best. Fuck the third (good combat though).
What the hell is up with the recommended videos?
What's it giving you on your screen? On my end I'm getting some pretty average recommendations.
it was dam good game shame the sequels didn't get what made the first one creepy
Not only that, they fucked up the gameplay by consolizing the shit out of it.
Hoorah for party bodies! But if you think the bodies in THAT video were spasmodic and wild, you've ain't seen nothing yet. One minute in, and the body goes fucking berserk. And this sets the tone for this guy's entire "Let's Replay". Sometimes the bodies take out the lights, sometimes they get stuck in the walls, and one time they actually crashed Helloween's PC.
The gunplay is FEAR was phenomenal, and still feels great after all of this time. It's a fun game to re-visit.
Tbh, I'd download and replay it on like a yearly basis if it didn't still scare the shit out of me.
Tbh, I'd download and replay it on like a yearly basis if it didn't still scare the shit out of me.
I replay the games every October. In terms of spooks it would say it goes Extraction Point > Perseus Mandate > 1 > 2 > 3
I replayed FEAR recently and it wasn't as scary as I remembered. More goofy than anything, really. Lots of fun, though.
Nailing people to the walls with the stake gun thing was fun.
I replay the games every October. In terms of spooks it would say it goes Extraction Point > Perseus Mandate > 1 > 2 > 3
EP has some messed up parts. Hence why I never finished it. [editline]16th October 2016[/editline]
I replayed FEAR recently and it wasn't as scary as I remembered. Perfect Halloween game, might actually reinstall it for another go as i get better and better at it each year.
I think my game is legit bugged entirely. I came back to play again since I last made that video and all ragdolls are still doing this.. wtf is going on lol. It's the Steam version too, all up to date.
I replayed FEAR recently and it wasn't as scary as I remembered. More goofy than anything, really. Lots of fun, though.
Little girls aren't scary anymore. If FEAR came out today, it would be getting a lot of fanart of Alma being a cute little girl being chased by the Pointman as he tries to hug her or putting clothes on her and telling her that a girl should be more modest. This would be dwarfed by the yaoi of Pointman and Fettel

F3AR had a great first person cover system and it had fun mech segments That's about all the good things I can say about it. [editline]16th October 2016[/editline] I guess it also had high enemy variety but I was happy fighting just replica soldiers and their mechs in the first game since the AI is still the best. I never wanted anything other than replica soldiers.
FEAR 1, while the graphics certainly haven't aged well, is still something that I play occasionally for the atmosphere, gunplay, and AI. Extraction Point had a massive blue-ball of an ending. Perseus Mandate had bland monotone mercenary enemies and a fan-fic plot. FEAR 2, imho, had the best art direction. F3AR was watered down garbage.
FEAR 1 I feel holds up better than say, Half Life 2.

Its just too bad the writing was terrible as compared to.
Its just too bad the writing was terrible as compared to.
I just ignored the writing and played a mute superhero, whose only power is bicycle kicking people into a red mist, growing increasingly angry during a futile search for Dr. Squish. Alma was just a distraction from the true goal.
I replayed FEAR recently and it wasn't as scary as I remembered. More goofy than anything, really. Lots of fun, though.
It was incredibly generic horror tropes, at least by today's standards. Plus if you go in expecting the Alma spooks, you generally know what to expect besides the double surprise motherfucker trick on that one ladder.
FEAR 1, while the graphics certainly haven't aged well
I came here to say the exact opposite
I came here to say the exact opposite
The geometry itself is generally pretty basic, however the sheer number of particle effects at any given time has yet to be matched by any shooter. [editline]17th October 2016[/editline] Also I just played extraction point for the first time in a long time and I need to revise my spookiness chart Extraction Point >>>>>>>>>>>> Perseus Mandate > 1 > 2 > 3
