World Not Warming:
The United Nations climate panel faces a new challenge with scientists casting doubt on its claim that global temperatures are rising inexorably because of human pollution.
In its last assessment the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the evidence that the world was warming was “unequivocal”.
No Warming since 95:
Data for vital 'hockey stick graph' has gone missing
There has been no global warming since 1995
Warming periods have happened before - but NOT due to man-made changes
The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.
Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.
Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.
The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.
And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.
Al Gore, brilliant schemer.
Is the "Going Green" fad over yet?
Finally, now can we please stop persuing electric vehicles and get back to nice meaty V12 petrol engines.
EDIT:
Assuming here that all the "dumbs" came from uneducated, media fueled fools who want the world to run on wind power. Perhaps i wasn't clear when i said "petrol" engines, what i meant to say was combustion engines, since they need not run on non-renewable fuels. Hydrogen, ethanol etc are carbon neutral alternatives provided that the appropriate technology is adapted to suit. So we can still keep the manly roar of a combustion cycle while preserving our sweet sweet mother nature.
If everyone starts not believing in global warming and then it actually does happen I am going to rage.
Brb. I've got a few hundred "I fucking told you so" emails to send.
I don't really care if Global Warming is real or not because if it was real, it's not up to the general public to stop it. The general public can't control if majorly polluting industry / power plants are built, if companies continue to destroy rain forests. etc...
For those who are thinking 'well maybe you could turn off your lights during the day or stop driving' that wouldn't help because you aren't forced to do it; others will continue to waste energy regardless. It pisses me off when commercials say 'hurr durr reduce carbon footprint derp stop making CO2'.

Not really no.

No respectable academic center would use the word "climategate"
No legitimate academics would refuse to even understand what "climategate" was and that "climategate" was in no way contradictory to anything.

I wouldn't be sending those emails yet. You may want to read the rest of the story.
Kevin Trenberth, a lead author of the chapter of the IPCC report that deals with the observed temperature changes, said he accepted there were problems with the global thermometer record but these had been accounted for in the final report.
“It’s not just temperature rises that tell us the world is warming,” he said. “We also have physical changes like the fact that sea levels have risen around five inches since 1972, the Arctic icecap has declined by 40% and snow cover in the northern hemisphere has declined.”
The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts has recently issued a new set of global temperature readings covering the past 30 years, with thermometer readings augmented by satellite data.
Dr Vicky Pope, head of climate change advice at the Met Office, said: “This new set of data confirms the trend towards rising global temperatures and suggest that, if anything, the world is warming even more quickly than we had thought.”
If consumers tend to buy eco-faggy-popular products, it usually tends to make the big players follow their lead.
It's just like voting, your vote doesn't matter a shit, neither does the vote of 100 people, the vote of 1000 might do, the vote of a million does matter.
What worries me is that people will think "Oh so it's all good.", and continue throwing garbage around and nobody will give two shits about renewable energy.
Even if global warming is a lie, pollution is not.
how to spot conservative children:
They use the phrase "eco-faggy"

The oil is running out though, no doubts about that.

What's with all the hate, Lankist. You got to heal the world one friendly post at a time, man.
Do it for the polar bears, man. :glomp:
Actually if I can make people feel so bad about themselves that they stop using the computer I'll have helped the environment that little bit.

Yes, let's start belching more shit into the air again, because what we are currently doing isn't damaging the enviroment, I see no problems with this.

Someone post that "We made the world better for NOTHING!?" comic.
Every Scientist knows, That if there is more Carbon and Shit in the air, THE EARTH GETS FUCKING COLD, Nuff' Said.
You guys are morons plain and simple. "Oh I told you so?" This doesn't refute anything. Glaciers ARE disappearing. Here in Minnesota it snows less and less every year. 95% of scientists DO believe climate change is occurring. The sea levels ARE rising.
You are all being tricked by the bullshit of pseudoscience, where corporations pay scientists to generate bullshit statistics that make their case look better. The same thing happened in the 1700s when scientists claimed whites were superior simply because of the shape of the skull and the correlation to education background. Blacks couldn't get education, how good is that?
Is this graph that hard to understand?

So the UN fucks up (How is that newsworthy anyways?) and suddenly a gigantic scientific theory that has tons of data supporting it is invalid? Come on! Use common sense!

I thought the newspaper was using that word. Like all the other british newspapers. It's a british media thing to append gate to shit for no reason.
Lost paperwork =/= massive eco-scam. '09 was the hottest year of the hottest decade ever recorded. Sea levels are the highest they've ever been, and thousands of square miles of ice are melting every year. Yet conservatives are still clinging to this manufactured "climategate" bullshit because they're too stupid and stubborn to see what's right in front of their own noses.

Climate Change is happening, no doubt. And even if it wasn't, there are plenty reasons to be wanting to cut down on fossil fuel use, reduce emissions, and stop fucking the world that bears us
Even if the planet isn't warming, we still need to keep it from getting more and more polluted.
