This is a fucking beast of a song. I feel so in-tune with myself when I listen to it. The song is IN a movie called "Koyaanisqatsi" which was directed by Godfrey Reggio. Really beautiful song and it deserves a listen. Copied entirely off of wiki :3 Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of balance The film consists primarily of slow motion and time-lapse photography of cities and many natural landscapes across the United States. The visual tone poem contains neither dialogue nor a vocalized narration: its tone is set by the juxtaposition of images and music. In the Hopi language, the word Koyaanisqatsi means 'crazy life, life in turmoil, life out of balance, life disintegrating, a state of life that calls for another way of living', and the film implies that modern humanity is living in such a way. The film is the first in the Qatsi trilogy of films: it is followed by Powaqqatsi (1988) and Naqoyqatsi (2002). The trilogy depicts different aspects of the relationship between humans, nature, and technology. Koyaanisqatsi is the best known of the trilogy and is considered a cult film. However, because of copyright issues, the film was out of print for most of the 1990s.
I love this song. A lot. Probably my favorite EitS song.
Yeah, it's pretty epic.
song sounds good.
I actually kind of choke-up while listening to this.
One of my favorite EitS songs. Their TR released first studio album will always be my favorite [editline]06:21PM[/editline] better quality audio version. BTW that music is not from the movie itself, it was added by the person that uploaded the video.
I saw Koyaanisqatsi once. Crazy ass film. I wanna watch it again, but not unless I'm high or something. You can see the whole thing on youtube. Legally. It's public domain and shit.
I love Explosions, I was supposed to see them with broken social scene but the gig got cancelled :(

well you said "The song is from a movie called "Koyaanisqatsi" which was directed by Godfrey Reggio." so I assumed you thought it was FROM the movie
Ok, well sorry for our miscommunication.
explosions are really cool I got to see them open for the smashing pumpkins a year or so ago their music is so epic
Explosions In The Sky / God Is An Astronaut / The Evpatoria Report THESE bands are really, really perfect, amazing.
Are they all alike?
Are they all alike?
Yes they are. I recommend you " Dipole Experiment " from " The Evpatoria Report ", their greatest song. Edit : However, a little difference can be felt with " God Is An Astronaut ", there are more " rythmic " songs.
fantastic song and I've been meaning to check out that movie. Will get round to it sometime this week :)
never heard this EitS song
It's from the newest album
Never heard this EitS song either, it's really good. I dislike God is an Astronaut, they sound less 'polished', can't really explain it though
Koyaanisqatsi is a very good movie. I definitely recommend it. First time I ever saw it was in my 3rd period english class. We did a section about how we need to take some time from our daily lives and apprecieate the world around us and he showed us Koyaanisqatsi. Very good choice.
