I don't know a single person who has ever had shrimp cooked on a barbecue
Shrimp on the barbie all my bloody hate
I've always wanted to go to Australia. The most interesting wildlife I have seen all month is a blue jay. Plus Steve Irwin was always kind of my hero. I wanted to go on adventures like him. I miss that guy.

Paul Hogan is a Fucking Legend:rock:
I don't think I've ever met someone with the accent every other country thinks we have.
I don't think I've ever met someone with the accent every other country thinks we have.
Yep. I hate it when 'Australian' characters are on US shows; they just have an English or slightly warped American accent. We don't sound like that. [editline]14th October 2011[/editline] Also, we don't really have crazy wildlife everywhere. People mostly live in ports around the main cities, which obviously doesn't have wildlife. Many Australians see their koalas/platypus/wombats/etc. in zoos. The only exception I can think of is maybe kangaroos, which are frequently in parks near suburbs. I used to live around half an hour from the city of Melbourne, and there were hundreds of kangaroos in a park about 2 minutes from me. I have seen a platypus and wombats in nature, but both of those were whilst camping.
I don't think I've ever met someone with the accent every other country thinks we have.
They think we sound like New Zealanders and South Africans. But then again I have made fun of Yanks with a red neck accent.
Honestly, I think Steve Irwin was disliked by most Australians (at least in my experience).
Well, when a man is holding a baby while he's feeding a crocodile, your popularity tends to go down.
Well, when a man is holding a baby while he's feeding a crocodile, your popularity tends to go down.
True story. I also think Australians tend to resent people who play up on that idea that Australians are crazy, crocodile-straddling bogans. Our international reputation didn't exactly benefit from Irwin.
Honestly, I think Steve Irwin was disliked by most Australians (at least in my experience).
Every person I have ever met fucking loves Steve Irwin. I've even seen him in real life, he's an awesome bloke.
Every person I have ever met fucking loves Steve Irwin. I've even seen him in real life, he's an awesome bloke.
He's dead. I did, too. I'm not talking about whether he was a nice person; I know he was.
Oh by the way, I watched a great movie a couple hours ago called Charlie & Boots. Paul Hogan played the character called Charlie, excellent actor.
Australia is top on my "Countries I want to visit" list.
If you are from Norway, you might want to come in Spring (around this time of year) otherwise you'd melt in the 40+ celsius Summer [editline]15th October 2011[/editline] This is what life is like in Summer. The suits are just in case of spiders

Someone give me a plane ticket.

Americans know what prawns are. I don't see why they had to call it a shrimp if it was a prawn. And this is exactly like that bloody California ad.

I guess over there he is just "that jackass on TV." I've never seen a Kangaroo ever. I don't want to go to a zoo I actually want to go out and see one out in the wild. My entire intention of going there is probably just to see things like that. I mean I would be a tourist after all so it would be like: See the city Go on a tour and look for animals Buy a hat and a knife
