• Nvidia driver crashing GTX 870M

I've been playing CSS alot recently and haven't had any issues because it's not a hard game to run at all. Until two days ago the game would randomly freeze but the sound and everything else was responsive. I ended up having to alt+tab out and quit the game. This happened a couple more times and started happening one after another. So I ended up uninstalling my driver and reverting back to an older version. It worked for about 40 minutes and ending up crashing again. When It would first start it would show up with the error message saying that the display driver had stopped running but successfully rebooted. The more recent ones have not come up with any error notification. I've looked online and all the articles that sound related to this are from a couple months ago. Any suggestion? Update-I tested out CS:GO and it worked well for the first 30-40 minutes and then the frames started to stutter every now and then. About 5 minutes after the stuttering started it would freeze the screen and the sound included. Then it would start back up and freeze again and start. Very similar to lagging, but not the issue.
Try running HWMonitor to check temperatures? Also have you tried any non source games?

But on another note, I went to open up my Nvidia Geforce Experience panel and the screen went black for about 2 seconds and the same error saying that the display driver stopped and recovered appeared. Just from launching a windowed app. I have a ASUS g750 laptop, and the fans are pointed outward so there's no suffocation of ventilation, but i'll check the temperatures anyway.
I ran the HWMonitor to check the temperatures and the value was also below the max temperature. Also, when I decided to launch Orion: Prelude, it instantly crashed my display driver. Adobe Premiere Pro also did the same thing.
