If they did have those features, then that would suck. Apple would patent the fuck out of it, so we wouldn't get those holographic images without Apple suing the other competitors.
I think by around 2050, we will still not have holographic images.

No way, by 2050 we'd definitely have something like that. Technology increases faster every year. I think I read somewhere that it increases exponentially or whatever and we already have prototype holographic models. While they won't turn into anything big anytime soon it's pretty crazy to think we won't have any holographic images in 38 years. I mean think, what did we have 38 years ago? That's 1974. I'm pretty sure no one then even thought of the things we'd have now.

Jesus the pessimism about the future on facepunch. Most people here seem to have a star trek view of the future, and that view is about as wrong as the apocalypse in 2012.
I've made this post so many times it isn't even worth trying to explain anymore so I'll keep it short.
I'm a big future enthusiast. Read books, watched vids, read mags, written papers.
Do NOT underestimate the power of exponential growth.
Even the most pessimistic of non-apocalyptic futurists would agree that holograms will be out by 2050.
I would really love to pour my heart out into this post, but I just can't do it anymore.

Haha I laughed so hard at this. I thought it was just going to be the video, I didn't realize the reporter actually mentioned the "high-tech" features.
