I wonder if the average people there can afford the nice restaurant or if it's just for the government types.
i don't know if i'm being naive, but those tourists must be treated like kings compared to average north korean citizens

Maybe, maybe not. Times are changing.
I would never be able to go to North Korea as a tourist in its current state. I'd feel too horrible for the actual citizens, like I'm taking even more from them...

I'm more worried about accidentally showing my disgust and getting sent to a camp.
There were some interesting points in that video.
First you can see they're all wearing regime pins or whatever you call them. Not sure if that means anything, if anything that is.
They censor some of the other guests sitting at the table. They're never alone and the third guest rarely speaks. So possibly minders?
And they seem to get preferred seating wherever they go. They got private dining rooms twice.
Than of course it's a video titled "DPRKA 360" and the rest of the videos on the channel follow the same positive theme. That being said I want to believe that things are a little better in NK but likely these are places built to cater to the higher class that can afford it, upper class citizens and tourists.
thought there would be no video
Interesting how much they are trying to emulate western restaurants like the McDonalds fries

Just play it cool and talk shit when you get home.
american culture is slowly worming it's way into nk via tourists and black market hollywood imports
I don't think the majority of the population is being subjected to it though. You don't see any commoners eating at any of these restaurants.
I believe they're just doing it in a way to show off and say "Hey look America! We can do anything you can do better!"

People smuggle in burger king and south korean dramas. There is hope.
The country depends on growing cocaine, printing 100 dollar bills and sending people to be slaves in Siberia but they also have some markets.

They are pins reminding them of their glorious leader Kim il-sung. You have to wear them 24/7 in North Korea, even during weddings the brides will be wearing that pin.
And yes there were probably minders involved, iirc every tourist trip with cameras is heavily directed by minders, who will direct the person on where to go, and tell them what they can and cannot film (like how iirc in North Korea, you cannot film people waiting for a bus or train because that implies poverty)

i guess kaz was right all along
The channel has some interesting stuff

it cost 1445 euro's for just 2 nights if this tourism website of there's is right and that's the cheapest one.
North korea is actually very nice, they have a good strong country. The food is fantastic
If you read the coments on the video the girl is actually his minder. Which seems weird given how normal she seems to be.

Foreigners are treated extremely well, the worst thing that can happen to you is getting deported.

Nah it was fairly obvious. "Wooow no room!"

This one's interesting too.
Just looked this up and this seems to literally be a propaganda channel for North Korea...

How do you know it's propaganda? Not disagreeing, just curious.
Funny thing about this video is that the minder sent by the party, is a damned sight more normal and down to earth than the bloke actually doing the filming.

Take a look at their sponsors.

You are not fooling anyone, RAYHALO.

It is sponsored by the NK travel group yes, but the videos and images are hosted by a man from Singapore who has the neutral goal of bringing awareness of NK without any political discussions.
