The US has said the shelling of a UN shelter in Gaza is "totally unacceptable and totally indefensible".
In its strongest criticism yet of Israel's offensive in Gaza, the US also said the civilian casualties were "too high", and called on Israel to do more to protect civilian life.
The UN has also criticised Israel over the worsening situation in Gaza, saying people there are "facing a precipice".
Some 425,000 Palestinians have been displaced by fighting, the UN says.

the US also said the civilian casualties were "too high", and called on Israel to do more to protect civilian life.
They'll protect civilian life, alright, just not any civilians who aren't their own
"Who cares? Now can you write that check out for 'The State of Israel'?"
Angry letters, all bark no bite.
Condemned?! My god, has it really gotten this far since they were 'slammed' for the shelling of Gaza?!
The US has said the shelling of a UN shelter in Gaza is "totally unacceptable and totally indefensible".
It is a defensible attack. Didn't you hear? Every hospital and shelter in Gaza is a secret "main Hamas HQ" Even Israel's own designated evacuation zones were discovered to be a Hamas HQ all along
"We condemn Israel" they say as they continue funding Israel
"The US said". Uh, no, "the White House spokesperson said". Get it right.
-snip- mistakes were made
"The US said". Uh, no, "the White House spokesperson said". Get it right.
The White House speaks for the US.

Well, do you at least admit Wafa hospital is currently the Hamas HQ?
The White House speaks for the US.
That's kind of funny when the White House says one thing, yet the rest of the government continues to support and supply Israel, basically doing the opposite.
Yeah, sure. Speaks for the US.
Holy shit why would the US stop funding an ally because of a humanitarian fuck up
There's more to global politics than humanity, it really sucks that that's the way the world is, but politicians don't think on a humanitarian scale.
Long term it is more valuable to have Israel as an ally, and no matter how fucked up things get its not going to change.
Edit:
The US doesn't do anything about established governments committing humanitarian crimes because it takes to much work. Look at Syria.
this was obviously done to hopefully curb some of the arguing in Sensationalist Headlines.
Cubemanv2 is secretly Obama in disguise obviously. The Politician story and everything!

Okay, serious question here.
Leaving aside the ties individual Jews in America have to family in Israel/Israel itself, and the evangelical Christian boner for Israel, what does Israel do for America? What value is there?
They're not a big oil nation. They aren't a massive manufacturing powerhouse. They take billions of US dollars in aid and tons of military technology (which they sometimes sell to the Chinese). What do they do for America?
Condemned?! My god, has it really gotten this far since they were 'slammed' for the shelling of Gaza?!
Surely Israel was "still reeling" from that when this bad boy was released, there's no way they're going to keep going now
Okay, serious question here.

1. They're a nation in the Middle-East that likely wouldn't blow up the United States if given the chance-- which already makes it a lot more appealing in the eyes of the US.
- a. Speaking of them being stable, Israel is doing pretty well in human rights in comparison to other countries in the area. You know, no Sharia's Law, no mass executions, no religion-motivated wars...
2. They're one of the biggest countries in scientific development.
- a. Israel has more researchers and scientists per thousand people than the United States, Japan, and an actual lot of other countries.
- b. A lot of technology has originated from Israel and a lot of electronic devices depend on Israeli technology.
3. For their size, Israel has one of the best military forces in the world. Israel's military technology and notably well-trained military makes them a huge force, even with small numbers.
- a. Conscription is mandatory in Israel. If things ever take a turn for the worse, Israel has an entire country that's served in the military, most which should be able to fight.
- b. A lot of recognizably famous weaponry is made in Israel, notably the Desert Eagle, Mini Uzi, Galil, and the Negev LMG.
It's a first-world country that's bringing heavy urban development to the Middle East. What's not to like?
Okay, your points about science and technology are quite logical. I don't see why you had to rate me dumb when I was genuinely asking a question. Everyone's instantly an asshole when they walk into a thread involving Israel or Hamas.

Always ignore obsessive raters. It is the hallmark indicator of a fanatical. As for your question, keep in mind Israel engages in heavy industrial espionage so in addition to military secrets being stolen (Israel is a major pain to the US intelligence community) a lot of tech secrets have been stolen as well.
The American Right is the only reason why Israel has unconditional support. That will soon end as new generations are bred and the intelligence community can no longer privately contain its anger with the Israeli state.

I never knew that 60-some percent of the US were on the right... (http://www.gallup.com/poll/161387/americans-sympathies-israel-match-time-high.aspx)
They'll protect civilian life, alright, just not any civilians who aren't their own
I think you can say that most countries value their own citizens over those of other countries. While perhaps they wouldn't be as clear about that as Israel has been, it's pretty true.

Probably not the way you meant to put it, apologies.

Or maybe people rate you dumb because they find your comments incomprehensibly dumb (kinda hence why they click the button that says 'dumb') and/or simply sensationalized garbage. Even with the statement you just made, why exactly do you think only right-wing Americans support Israel? Living in Illinois, which is almost entirely leftist, I can guarantee that at least 75% of the people here support Israel.

You so sure about that? There were 10,000+ people protesting in Chicago against Israel's actions.

2.5k people is nothing compared to the mass population of Illinois. Illinois nearly has thirteen million people-- I think 3.25 million people can still pretty easily get that amount to march. In addition, I should mention that on the same day, there was a pro-Israel march as well. What exactly is your point?
PS: Even if you're going to try and say that WGNTV is distorting the facts, the majority in the Democrat party also support Israel.

Because that question was a diaphanous blanket over a blatant hatred, you hypocrit. One could so easily say- 'what does Palestine do for America? What value is there?'.

What happened, I thought you guaranteed that it would be over 75%?

Nope, there are estimates that there were over 10K+. The 2.5K+ figure is by the most conservative estimate on the number who attended. The Chicago police themselves estimated the number to be at 8,000 and the number of Pro-Palestine demonstrators easily outnumbered the people who were anti-Palestinian.
Police estimate bout 8,000 demonstrators marched to Chicago's Federal Plaza calling for "peace with justice."
Boo-hoo, I'm eight percent off. I don't see how that validates Starpluck's claim that the only people who support Israel are on the right wing.
EDIT: Replaced 'Lamar' with 'Starpluck'. Hard to tell the difference these days.

That's assuming even if a user-voting site can give you accurate results.

I didn't even claim that, nice strawman.

You didn't have either name in your post when I replied to it, are you trying to get some zing ratings Monkah?
Monkah, both you and Hammer7 pretty much spam-rate every single person who posts something that is even remotely disagreeable to your stance on the topic. Even people like elixwhitetail who is just asking a question get dumbed by you.
You should consider your self lucky you haven't been banned yet because rating spam is bannable.
Who the fuck cares about ratings.
Moving on.
These threads derail too fast for me to want to respond to elixwhitetails response, which was honestly the most civil reply I've had on this forum when talking about this topic.

Regardless of how you nitpick at his minor number errors, his point that Illinois is majority in support of Israel still stands.
The White House speaks for the US.
The White House speaks for the administration. It's not accurate to say they speak for the entire country. They sure as hell don't speak for Congress.
