Avril Lavigne and her fiancé Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger have recorded material together for her new album, Epic Records boss LA Reid has revealed.
Lavigne has spent the last year working on the follow-up to her 2011 album 'Goodbye Lullaby' and Reid has confirmed that she and Kroeger recorded together for the record.
Speaking to Billboard, Reid said of Lavigne's new album and when it would be out: "She worked with Chad Kroeger, who is now her fiance, and they did a really good record."
He continued: "We're in the mixing process now and I expect to release it very soon. I'd like to get it out this year, but time seems to be flying. If we don't, it will be top of the new year."
This is the second time Lavigne has recorded extensively with her partner after her ex-husband and Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley produced six songs on 'Goodbye Lullaby'. They split up in 2009.
Last month, a spokeswoman for the couple, who have been dating for six months, confirmed that Kroeger and Lavigne plan to marry and got engaged earlier this month.
Reid himself returns to the judging panel on The X Factor USA tomorrow (September 12) as part of a new-look line-up that sees newcomers Britney Spears and Demi Lovato make their debuts.
I'm happy for them and moderately jealous at the same time.
To be honest, that could be decent.
Avril Lavigne was always a good singer whose records were fairly meh, as was Chad Kroeger.
If Epic Records paired them with a decent songwriter...
It's always been fact that nothing good comes out of Surrey.
gotta fill up the bargain bin with fucking something

you think they'd hire a songwriter? they probably think they're clever enough to do it all themselves
Yoko Oh No... :v:
who cares
I don't mind if they wanna get married.
Now we can take them both out with one drone strike.
Now wait until they divorce and start suing each other for the rights on their music.
Its obviously a very Complicated record deal.
As if music on the radio wasn't bad enough already...
I wonder if Avril Lavigne will be on the next Nickelback album too.
Gentlemen, we cannot, cannot, let this album reach shelves. This is the last chance we have. Their nefarious plan is almost complete. They've worn down our wills over the years using Nickelback, but we've built up a tolerance or learned to avoid it. But with this they've found the perfect combination of utter trash to, by making music so bad as to kill just the right brain cells in all people who listen to it, obliterate the very existence of opinions. After listening to even a single song off of this album, the concept of good will be annihilated in your mind. And since nothing will be good, nothing will be bad by comparison.
No one will know what is good or bad anymore. A kid wearing a trilby, shirt with hot-rod flames, and flip flops will have the same taste in clothes as someone wearing a nice fitting suit. Nothing less than Armageddon will follow, as there will be no concepts as simple as "war is bad", since the very idea of bad will not exist. Waking up in the morning will be perceived as the same on a scale of good and bad emotionally as being incinerated by a nuclear ground burst.
It's what Avril, Chad, and the rest have always wanted.
To make everything so bad, that nothing will be. Not even them.
Who the fuck gives a fuck?
Let them do what they want. No one is forcing you to buy the album.
Christ, you people are like a bunch of 10 year olds.

funnily enough, none of the users here are gonna get married anytime soon, so its funny to see fp's reaction to anything marriage/relationship related
New single: (Why's Chad Kroeger's Dick Gotta Be So) Complicated
I was going to cleverly combine lyrics from one of her songs and one of Nickelback's songs for a laugh, but once I took a look at some sample lyrics all the laughter within me died. Those lyrics reminded me of how they really are, so much for my happy ending.
it's going to be an offensively mediocre album
To quote Joan Rivers: If they have children, God they are going to make the worst music in the world :c
