Parental builds. Don't even bother making a custom build. Their demands will be so light anyways you can get away with a $500 Dell prebuilt.
i refuse to let my mom buy a prebuilt besides, my little brother will probably be using it some too
besides, my little brother will probably be using it some too
Right then. So it WILL be used for gaming.
How much are you looking to spend?

all of that looks great, but wth is llano? [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] well actually i googled it [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] are these things reliable though? [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] also i've often heard Rosewill isn't exactly the best brand
Llano is a quadcore with a 6570 or something intergrated
ok so revised build http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151233 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147091 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236114 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121013 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145322 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.738485 the case seems so small though, i've never really dealt with micro ATX so is that gonna be ok? [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] $612 with tax and shipping is the total
Whoops, forgot RAM. Get 2 RAM sticks for dual channel, I'd say 2x2GB for 4GB total. The case itself is fine (I have the same model but with a different front panel). If you'd rather be sure and maybe spend 10-20 more you could get a better one. But it's just an APU and the total power used will probably be no more than like 250W at full load, so it's not something I'd really worry about. The APU are really great. [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] And where do you live? Newegg never shows me tax like that, and the shipping seems higher than it should be.
Tennessee one of only 3 states in the country that tax online purchaes
Get a mobo that supports 1866 RAM and get 1866 RAM, as it makes a huge difference to performance with APU builds.
is it fine if the hard drive is 3.0 gb/s while the mobo is 6.0 gb/s? [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] also would this RAM be fine? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145251
That's fine.
get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277
That's fine.
I was talking about the 3Gb/s hdd on a 6Gb/s port being fine.
And if you even need more performance in the future, get a 6570 or whatever the integrated GPU corssfires with. [editline]6th October 2011[/editline] And you might not need the 1tb drive. Maybe a 500GB F3 instead?
alrighty, thanks guys i'm pretty interested to see how this APU will be
It should come with Dirt 3, a DX11 to try out on your system.
i got Dirt 3 when i got my 6870 a while back
