Lava House - General - Facepunch Forum

[b]The subject:[/b] An abandoned, half-built multi-million dollar private home, nicknamed the "Lava House". [b]Location:[/b] Belvedere Island, California. (One of the most expensive real estate locations in the world) (That's in the San Fransisco bay area for those of you who don't know, you can see the Golden Gate bridge in the first picture.) [b]Background:[/b] A millionaire bought a lot on a cliff overlooking the water, and started the construction of a very abstract home, which was decorated and landscaped primarily with lava rocks (Hence the nickname). There is a rumor that the millionaire was arrested and sentenced to many years or even life in jail, when his lava house was barely half-built. Thus, all construction on the lot has stopped since then, and today the lava house is frequented by graffiti artists, potheads, couples, and more. I myself am not sure how old the house is, but according to the dates on graffiti it is at least 11 years old.
