WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court rejected on Tuesday a request from opponents of gay marriage to put on hold a new law that allows same-sex couples to wed in Washington, D.C.
Roberts acted right before the law takes effect on Wednesday. In December, the city council adopted a measure which adds the nation's capital to the five states that already allow same-sex marriage.
you bitches leave our population controller alone.
Good.
Hell yeah.
that's still only 5/50 states that allow this. That's only 10 %.
I was hoping for federal legislation.
Still a victory, though.
Wooo. Homo's get rings in this many more states. Hi-fives all around.
the five states that already allow same-sex marriage.
What? I didn't know it was that few.
Man, that's even more pathetic than I had previously imagined.
5/50 states that accept same-sex marriage? Damn, I thought that it was only one or two states acting unruly.
But that's good anyway. Perhaps this will start other campaigns for same-sex marriage in other states?

Except every single state is about as big as your countries.

Better than none of the states.
Christians are afraid of change.
A lot Christians are afraid of change.
Fixed.
I'm still confused as to why conservative Christians think this affects them.

The non-coastal states don't count. They're just there to give people something look look at when flying between the East coast and the West.
Nah, they're just afraid of human rights and freedoms.
Yeah let me tell you, we want to tie you in chains and whip you just like your mother.

Canada is bigger than the states. To my knowledge, gay marriage is allowed nation-wide.
Good :)

You make a point there.
Good, though I'm still disappointed that my state legalized discrimination against homosexuals.
Plus Christians who are out against gays are not true Christians; Jesus in the New Testament (what Christianity is technically based off) taught tolerance for all people. True, they consider homosexuality to be a sin, but they're supposed to tolerate it and love those who practice it regardless.
fuck yeah buttsex
Sad fact. More states allow marriage between first cousins than they do gay marriage.
They should allow everyone to have equal rights nation wide and place it in the constitution.
Oh wait.
I'd prefer the government to not have anything to do with marriage. They shouldn't have any jurisdiction over it.
