Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton Break Up After 13 Years Together
Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton have confirmed they split up earlier this year, but insist the break is 'amicable'.
The couple, who have two children, Billy, 11, and Nell, seven, have announced they "separated amicably earlier this year" after 13 years together.
A spokesperson for the 48-year-old actress told Mirror Online: “Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children.
"We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time.”
It comes just weeks after they were spotted with their children at Winter Wonderland - proving they're remaining good friends.
The duo started dating after Tim, 56, directed Helena in Planet of the Apes in 2001 and had a famously unconventional relationship, living in two neighbouring houses joined by a communal room.
Who will get the custody of Johnny Depp now ;c
I always wondered why she was in his films...
Colour me clueless, I had no idea they were married.

That's because they weren't married.
This is my chance.
theres a coincidence all his movies turned into the same grim/brooding dark comedy thing and that kinda happened when he got together with helena.
awful actress, ruins his movies. maybe he'll direct a good movie now that shes gone.

These people were for real?
These people were for real?
Well, she spent about 15 years locked up in Azkaban with the Dementors. Anyone would go a bit off kilter from that.

*cough* Fight Club *cough* get the fuck out of here
He's a mediocre/awful film maker if anything, and Helena's been in whole bunch of other movies too.. most being B-films, but also few excellent ones.

if her characters are shit its because of the directing and not the acting, mind you

I don't think Tim would be all that into you
FIGHT CLUB

Yeah, he sounds more like Nolan's turf.
awful actress
clearly you haven't seen fight club
not that her acts in harry potter and such were anything below par either-- she's a fine actor.
These two were like a living embodiment of Tim Burton's movies and it was hilarious.
Sad to see that go.
Does this mean we can finally get a decent Burton flick without that hack actress in it? Oh what a day that would be. I have never been able to understand the liking people have for her, she's really such a flat actress to watch on screen.
if her characters are shit its because of the directing and not the acting, mind you
Its a bit of both, he tight casts her and she really only has two modes, crazy and broody

Assuming he directed a good movie besides Pee-Wee, Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, Big Fish, Edward Scissorhands, and Ed Wood.

Also, finally Tim Burton can be with his true love, Johnny Depp.

Tim Burton's best movie came out 11 fucking years ago and hasn't made anything noteworthy/memorable/decent since then.

what about sweeney todd? that was quite well done
[editline]23rd December 2014[/editline]
i dig tim burton and helena bonham carter i think they're both p cool
burton while a total one trick pony with his style definitely pulls it off really well. the only person who really compares is henry selick, who's collaborated with burton before. the two of them together are glorious
I like burton's films and I like Carter as an actress.
I'm sorry.

What, are you actually ashamed of liking both? I liked both too they're fine.

I'm ashamed posting about it in a thread about all the people who disagree.
I haven't seen any of Burton's new movies. I think the last one I saw was probably Sweeney Todd, which I remember being pretty good.

What other movies have they collaborated on aside from Nightmare? That said, Nightmare alone proves those two work together extremely well.

It's fine dude.
They've got their good stuff, and everyone has their off moments.
"Big Eyes" is something Burton directed recently, and it looks really interesting.

Too late, Tim Burton is mine
Of course they would separate on the year 13.
