Actually, it's a G3 SG.1, but I got rid of the stupid cheek rest and the kid that sold it to me didn't give me a bipod anyway so who the fuck cares it's a G3A3 now. Real Steel History (in the words of TaiwanesePrick who got a B in AP World History and feels like he failed the WHAP Exam) The West German G3A3 was introduced during the Cold War as a battle rifle chambered for the NATO standard 7.62x51mm round. The Bundeswehr had wanted to adopt the FN FAL because it's a great rifle that they liked more than the SIG 510 and AR-10, but scumbag FN didn't let them produce FALs domestically, so the military turned to H&K to come up with their own take on sexy long 7.62x51mm rifles with 20 round magazines and full-size stocks. The resulting weapon was the G3, which also pioneered the cool trademark H&K roller-delayed blowback system that's found in everything H&K and allows for the user to slap the shit out of their guns and be satisfied and want to do it over and over and again and again, resulting in domestic violence towards children and spouses from old habits and tendencies picked up from the military. The G3 SG.1 was the variant of cool Aryan G3s that could shoot really far and were used as sniper rifles. The G3A3 was the variant of G3 that wasn't as cool but looked sexier because it didn't have a stupid cheek rest. First Impressions/Externals The story behind how I got this gun: a local kid needed money quick, but his mom was always busy and worked from home, and his dad got home from work super late, so the only time he had to drop the thing off was on weekends, or late at night. So he sold me the gun for $125 (added money for gas price), and called me at 11:45 PM one night asking if it was okay to bring the gun over. Fifteen minutes later, he calls me again, and I put on a coat and go up to my driveway, handing the kid $125 in cold, hard, cash, and getting a TM G3 wired to deans with eight magazines in a plastic shopping bag in return. After wrapping my head around the fact that I just made a gun deal at midnight, I went up to my room and inspected the gun. From what I've heard about Tokyo Marui AEGs, I wasn't surprised at the light weight of the G3. For such a big rifle, it weighed in at about seven pounds, which is hefty but manageable. The outer barrel of the gun is metal, as is the front sight, charging handle, and trigger. The endcap holding the stock onto the receiver is also metal, but the rest of the gun is polymer. The gun features an SEF lower, which is personally my favorite group of all H&K guns. The metal charging handle is nice and allows for some good 'ol H&K slapping:always good fun that Ender can never resist- he's done it to my gun every time he's seen it these past two weeks. what comes after this picture is good news and good noise My G3 came with a metal optic rail, which is very sturdy and has no wobble at all, but no rear sight. It's been confirmed that TM G3s and MP5s use the same rear sight, so finding a replacement should not be that much of a problem. My gun also did not come with rear stock pins, but Ender suggested that I take straws and cut them to shape and to form the thickness required, and this method has worked rather well so far. Fish Muffin also sent me replacement pins, and I will get those in my gun as soon as Ender's dad brings the power drill home for him to use. The magazine release is interesting- in addition to the standard ambidextrous paddle release on the bottom of the gun, the G3 also features a side-button, similar to ARs, albeit much more difficult to reach. I'd still use the paddle, as my hands aren't 14 inches long and I can't reach the front of the receiver to hit the button. "MADE IN JAPAN. TOKYO MARUI CO. LTD. AIRSOFT GUN GOOK" The magazines for the G3 are roughly the same size as their American counterparts. They're slightly wider than SR-25/Mk.17 mags and M14 magazines, but they definitely look cooler so it's well worth it. [t]http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr282/metal_panzer/DSC_0011.jpg[/t] Mk.17, M14, G3 Internals As a TM, the gun's internals are top notch. The hop-up is adjusted by pulling back the charging handle and turning the plastic wheel up or down, and the battery compartment is a multi-dimensional Doraemon pocket that'll take anything you fit in in-and then some. It's a giant gaping black hold of infinite so if it looks like the battery will fit, chances are it definitely will. fake weld marks and hopup adjustment wheel *~*~*~*~*~i feel infinite~*~*~*~*~* Skirmish Report On June 8th, I took this gun out to ARC Airsoft with Ender, Foxton, and some of our friends. Ender was working the chrono station that afternoon and we were astonished to find that the gun was shooting 397-399.5 FPS with .2s. How it was shooting 399.5 is beyond me, but it does show that it was messed with and is not a stock TM. I would presume a stock G3 SG.1 would be shooting around 270-290 FPS. The hop-up and range were all there, and coupled with the Elite Force .28s that we were using in all of our guns that day, it's safe to assume that I was picking people off beyond 200 feet. The 70 round midcaps did take some getting used to, but on the long run I was able to run the weapon pretty efficiently and I did get myself some good kills at long range, especially after I swapped out my Eotech for an ACOG after the first game. The overall length of the gun was pretty long, but because we were playing over a large area that didn't really matter and in some cases worked out to my advantage, especially when I had to pass the rifle up to a teammate to hold as we were climbing up the side of a hill. I really enjoyed bringing this gun out to the field, and after fielding it for one game and experiencing real TM magic and range, I didn't even think about busting out my AK-105. TaiwanesePrick's Final Verdict If you ever find this gun for a reasonable price on a local trade group or something, GET IT. There's no reason not to, considering TM G3s are less prone to snapping in half at the stock than their CA counterparts, and also, you can never have enough 7.62x51 rifles.
that's a lot of gun porn in your room I just have 2 federal shotshells and some old targets with good groupings
G&G posters from the G&G factory store in Taiwan. They're free for anyone to grab, take note of this Terrorshield. Surprisingly, I never keep my targets when I go shooting- just the casings.
