Just wondering whats the best/fastest External HDD out at the moment for about $100.00 cheers boys
I have a LaCie external hard drive and it's been running strong for years. I've dropped it a few times and have treated it pretty roughly so they are pretty durable. They also use Seagate for the actual drive in the unit. http://www.lacie.com/ca/products/product.htm?id=10270 Also, don't get a western digital. Everyone I know that has owned a WD external HDD has had the controller burn out which turns the thing into a brick.
Don't waste your money buying any hard drives right now, the prices are going nuts since the plants in Thailand flooded. Stuff that was on Newegg for $55 two weeks ago is $80 now.

Segate drives that I've owned crapped out quickly yet I have yet to own a WD drive that broke. I've even accidentally dropped my 1TB MyBook HDD while it was on and it still runs great.

I bought two seagate drives, one died after 4 months and the other was rma and now it's still going.
I've had a wd 2tb one for a few months, already started the dreaded clicking noise. Sending it back once I get round to backing stuff up.

Put it in my PC, no problem.
I have a 160Gb from 2006. Tons of hours, still running like a champ!
