So today i got a call early in the morning from my manager telling me that she needs me to pick up a shift. I tried to make an excuse but in the end I agreed to come to work. So I was at work, making my minimum wage and serving people overpriced fastfood. I wasn't in a particularly great mood because I had not planned on working on Christmas eve. I was taking dine-in orders, and there was only a few people, all older people just buying small things. One man came and ordered just a large fry. It was only 2 dollars and change. He stood close by the register waiting for his food. I handed him his fry, but he didn't turn for the door. He looked at me, and then whipped out an envelope. He said "Merry Christmas" softly and then hustled out the door. We had been receiving cards all day, with stupid phrases like "thanks for the merry service" so i thought nothing of it. I put it in my back pocket while i helped other customers. When all the customers had been helped I went into the back to open up the card and set it with the others. But there wasn't a dumb phrase in the card. There was 100 dollars cash. You hear about these Christmas stories, like the anonymous people that were paying off layaway debts, but i never thought something like this would happen to me. A man gave me 100 dollars for absolutely no reason. Christmas Spirit, Man. Thanks Alin, wherever you are. "From the humblest of places, Came the greatest of joys". Your manager basically just gave away the chance to get 100 bucks for free... Call your self lucky...
You, begrudgingly, came to work against everything you wanted to do, and you got one hundred dollars, free? Coo'.
i gave each of my 2 brothers $50 amazon gift cards and in return i got an ACT study guide and a history book. merry christmas
the last time i worked on christmas eve, a man threw an expired coupon at me because i wouldn't let him use it
People in my city are paying off everyone's layaway accounts. It's happened to me and my family members. It's really insane.
that's a nice card, too
Awwwwwwwww!
Bah humbug
