What's that silver minivan-like car on the background to the left of the Kombi?
(This isn't related to the shooting btw, I'm just a car guy).

that's way too clever for how dumb the concept is

I see why they are doing this; they don't want to talk about an organized Islamic terrorist cell in the USA because it helps Trump's cause but their not calling it out just makes them seem desperate.

Trump's comments and their accuracy is irrelevant to how the media should report news, but you get shit like whats listed above with CNN and you wonder why people dont trust traditional media anymore, especially conservatives.
Media prefers to report speculation from 'experts' that fit a narrative rather than reporting the facts and details from police reports.
Good, they got him. Hopefully they can get more info about the possible cell from him.
Unsettling that this is in my home state.
Even when you hear about things like the Orlando shooting and other terror attacks, with it being in another state it feels as if it's on the other side of the world.
But when the news start listing places you're familiar with, you've visited, it makes you a little nervous.

Seems pretty straightforward to me. They're not affiliated with any groups, but are operating together. Of course, this is all assuming there even is a group and not a single perpetrator.

I know at this point it's all just semantics, but a lone wolf is a single person acting of his own volition. Not being affiliated with a large group like IS is one thing, but this still boils down to "multiple conspirators" and is no longer 'lone' anything

weapons they've found what 7-10 bombs now
Mission accomplish.

I was out fishing on the Barnegat Bay when the bomb in the trash can went off in Seaside Heights, it's unsettling when it's just 10 minutes from you.

Or maybe it's because there is no evidence yet of there being an "organized Islamic terrorist cell" according to the FBI.

What facts or details from what police reports? I wasn't watching CNN when this expert came on. Doesn't CNN know people are tired of experts?

I was wrong when I mentioned a organized terrorist cell but that was because the TV news like CNN were speculating on there being more than one terrorist. Look at the 2/3 lone wolves or the lone wolf pack comment.
No other suspects are being sought, apparently

That also doesn't imply terror cell.
If youre so upset with CNN why are you still watching it instead of primary sources.

I think last time I checked to qualify for using a weapon of mass destruction you just need an explosion that can cause harm to more than two people or so... I think that's an obvious charge that terrorist will catch.
As a Marine living less than half an hour from the bombing site, this fucked with my head hard.
so interestingly enough, the suspect's own father had reported him to the fbi in 2014. apparently the douche had come back from a trip to afghanistan (something he did more than once), and started "acting weird". fbi found nothing suspicious, so they let it go.
oh, the sweet irony.

How many times do we have some these homegrown terrorist who are of Middle-Eastern descent, traveling to their parents home country then end up being radicalized? Then it's suddenly SO SHOCKING that they attempt to carry out some this stupid bullshit, yet they were apparently on watchlist prior.
Rahami has been slapped with a ton of state and federal charges including several attempted murders, unlawful possession of a weapon, use of a weapon of mass destruction, destruction of property and more
