Snoop Dogg, meet pot-sniffing drug dog. The famous ganja-smoking gangsta rapper took a hit (a financial one, anyway) from Norwegian authorities upon arriving at Oslo's international airport Thursday morning, E! News reports. The discovery was "accidental," customs agents told Norway's Verdens Gang newspaper, which American media are all citing in their reports. Here's how the paper tells the story, according to a rough English translation via Google: "One of the customs drug dogs [was] released in the arrivals hall and marked immediately the rap star," Verdens Gang says about Snoop Dogg's pot bust. The customs agents who busted Snoop Dogg "tell of a polite star who did what he was asked. He acted without any prima donna whims, and was nice, customs officials told VG. "They say, however, that they did not know who Snoop Dogg was before he showed identification," the Norwegian report states. (Which is interesting, since that ID likely bore Snoop Dogg's legal name, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) The Doggfather was caught with 8 grams of marijuana, though it's not clear where he'd stashed it. Under Norwegian law, possession of up to 15 grams of pot is punishable by a fine of up to 5,000 kroner, or about $827, according to E! News. Unfortunately for Snoop, customs agents also fined him an additional 52,000 kroner (about $8,600) for carrying too much cash into the country without declaring it at customs. Snoop Dogg apparently had $7,000 more cash than allowed under Norwegian law, the New York Daily News reports. It's a good thing Snoop Dogg's pot bust didn't happen at U.S. customs. "If you attempt to bring illegal contraband (including drug paraphernalia such as pipes) into the U.S., it will be seized and you will be subject to fines, penalties, and possible arrest," according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. It doesn't matter if the pot is medicinal, or if the person carrying it has any prima donna whims.
Source
What else is new
he lived up to his motto
Chump change to him probably. Burn money everyday
Snoop Dogg was busted by a snooping dog.
Snoop Dogg smokes weed? What? I never knew that...
I never understood why people keep punishing snoop when they find his weed Fining Snoop Dogg for possession of marijuana is like fining Carlos Slim for possession of money. They're inseparable. He raps about it. He's posted a pic of him and his bong on twitter. You know he has it. You know he'll always have it. Why make a fuss?
This is why I like snoop.
Of course he didn't care, he's probably got both mountains of money and weed.
So the punishment for carrying too much money is to take it all away, and then some.
This is why I like snoop.
He's not dumb. Throwing up a fuss just makes you look like both an ass and really suspicious. Co-operation makes it all a lot faster for both you and the authorities.
So the punishment for carrying too much money is to take it all away, and then some.
Carrying too much money without notifying the people who need to know beforehand.
He rolls the best weed, he was clearly just trying to share it with the people of Norway. Why is kindness a crime?
smoke weed everyday So what was he visiting Norway for?
He's gone on tours in Norway/Sweden before. Somewhat unrelated, but I couldn't help but not post this.
i will still never understand punishing people for possessing a harmless drug for personal use, ehh
Because it's a gateway drug!!!!
Aw Firerain, what did you do?
i will still never understand punishing people for possessing a harmless drug for personal use, ehh
Last time I checked, they don't allow you to take drugs to an airport unless you literally need them to live.
Because it's a gateway drug!!!!
Apparently a gateway to 7000$ more than is allowed when entering Norway, if we put 2 and 2 together.
Seems a better policy than many
It's always the ones you don't suspect.
What a shocker! [sp]sarcasm[/sp]
