The point is that military-like police forces are used against your own people in your own country. Key members of a movement / protest are arrested in order to stop the protest. Rocks, bottles, Molotovs, and other projectiles do a lot of damage.

clearly the problem here is people protesting police brutality and lack of representation in their community, not the city's response to it i hate when the people's voices are heard!!

I find it hard to side with people that immediately resort to calling names and swearing at the first sign of resistance. They just come off as entitled douchebags. I agree that the cops have no right to stop them from walking down the sidewalk, but their attitude is just grating.

There was an anti-police brutality march earlier this year in Montreal. The protesters ended up smashing some store windows and looting them.
