Thank you, that was awfully embarrassing.
That was a fucking obnoxious video.

still creeps me out seeing a blockade with cops in camo
this video makes me angry as hell
the only problem with things like this: it takes two to tango. retarded rioters / protesters and retarded cops

Thats not the point. The point is that military-like police forces are used against your own people in your own country.
Key members of a movement / protest are arrested in order to stop the protest. Does that ring a bell?
no im ignorant, but i'd imagine its a good idea to use the best equipment as possible when dealing with retarded rioters/protetsers

The police need that kind of equipment for when a peaceful protest turns into a riot. Rocks, bottles, Molotovs, and other projectiles do a lot of damage.
they're wearing acus. probably FRACUs which are flame resistant
which is the kind of thing you want against molotovs and shit that burns

and as far as using military gear to intimidate, black gear / uniform is worn by swat usually to intimidate. not UCP gear.
I find it hard to take seriously a video which calls riot police a "SWAT team" and suggests that they have a "sniper rifle."

"ANIMAL ABUSE!!!"
Do any of you know the actual background here?
On Saturday afternoon in Anaheim, California, Manuel Diaz – who was unarmed at the time and posing no threat – was chased down by police and shot in the neck and back of the head. Soon after, family and friends gathered in protest, and instead of the police explaining what happened and reassuring the family that an investigation would take place, they opened fire with rubber bullets and pepper balls and at one point released an attack dog into the crowd. This was captured on video, sparking further protests which could escalate.
Anyway, if you live in Europe you're used to seeing gendarmes from time to time, which would never fly in the US, but not these wannabe commandos. Someone yelling "animal abuse" is just pathetic-- cops dressed like they're about to out-guerilla the Vietcong? More pathetic? And scary?
clearly the problem here is people protesting police brutality and lack of representation in their community, not the city's response to it
i hate when the people's voices are heard!!
People poke the hornet's nest and then cry when they are stung. Does anyone know if they were given permits to stage a demonstration?
Man why do I get the idea most of these people are just really scared?
I find it hard to side with people that immediately resort to calling names and swearing at the first sign of resistance. They just come off as entitled douchebags.
I agree that the cops have no right to stop them from walking down the sidewalk, but their attitude is just grating.
There was an anti-police brutality march earlier this year in Montreal. The protesters ended up smashing some store windows and looting them.
