they don't own android. they own the google apps, which makes stock n4 android what it is, but they don't own android.
Secondly, 39% of android phones are Samsung's. The user doesn't really care if it has a skin or not, but Google cares if you can access the play store. If Samsung forks Android, and removes the Play store, there goes 39% of play store users. They'd be kicked out of the OHA, but they can look at Kindle Fire as an example of a manufacturer not being in OHA and doing just fine.

A fucking joke? It's one of the best selling smartphones.
You may knock large screen sizes, but they're selling; very well in fact. Look at the Note and the Note 2.
All the Samsung phones ive used have been exceptional, and all my friends have had great experiences with them too. I see where google's worry comes from (which is hilarious btw) but the other companies should step up their game, its not samsung's fault they're making the best android products. Just remove all the bloat they throw on there with a custom rom and they kick ass.
The only problem I have with my S II is the bloatware and fucking Touchwiz. I hate TW so much and putting Slimbean on there fixed all my problems [aside from the wireless radio sucking so I get shit service]

I don't know many android-users that actually think the SIII looks good, but it's a great phone in most other aspects
I've said it in another thread but Samsung needs to work on the design. The Galaxy SIII has nice insides but the screen is shit and uses that awful design. And they have several other products using the same design, it looks even worse on a tablet.

They're the only android oem to optimise their firmware and holy shit Amiga you're so edgy calling them samesung.
The only reason they are using that design is to make it patent proof so they can't get sued again.

Google should set some stricter guidelines for those companies who currently have a large amount of active Android handsets.

Google should push forward their Nexus more. I'm awaiting for my Nexus 4. Tried my friend's one, it was awesome.
People don't want to go thru hundreds of phone reviews to pick their phone, they now mostly know that Android and iOS are a thing, they'll go for either one of them. When they're going for iOS they just pick an iPhone 5 or 4S, when they think Android, they think of Samsung and their Galaxy SII / SIII since they've been heavily marketed.
I never really liked Samsung's phones, they feel like cheap stuff made of plastic.

Samsung are just taking their chance to flood the market with phones while they can, they have gained traction and are trying to bury the competition. Not that i like their current phones, everything around the SII was good but their latest are pretty boring and Touchwiz is still shit.
