Organizers of the first Olympic golf tournament in 112 years say there is little risk of alligator-like creatures slithering onto fairways or greens during the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. As many as 6,000 caimans, members of the alligator family, live in sewage-infested lagoons around western Rio, and some have moved into water features built as part of Gil Hanse’s design for Brazil’s first public golf course. The reptiles, much smaller and more docile than crocodiles, are not considered a risk to people, though encroachment on their habitat has meant contact with humans is increasing.
"dont bite" i suppose you dont live in florida?
I'm gonna go ahead and take a guess that they live in Brazil.
oh, i've seen them a few times where i live in rivers :v: , the only times i ever heard about them getting near people is during floods.
"dont bite" i suppose you dont live in florida?
they're waaay less agressive than a crocodile.
Yeah, it's not so much a bite as it is more of a 'SNAP'. Think we'll see any "Do not feed the wildlife" signs?
I would be more concerned about protests than caimans.
Lower game console prices in Brazil and these alligators won't want to leave their swamp because they'll be too busy playing games.
Should have been in Chicago. There are no alligators here, just gangland violence!

Why keep them away from the course, don't they realize that this is a great opportunity to finally make golf like, not boring as fuck to watch? Come on, just imagine getting ready to swing and seeing a huge fucking alligator crawling out of the water hazard next to you.
