The band were founded by lead singer Courtney Taylor-Taylor, keyboardist Zia McCabe, guitarist Peter Holmström, and drummer Eric Hedford. Hedford left in 1998 to be replaced by Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent De Boer. The band's name is a pun on the name of American pop artist Andy Warhol. The Dandy Warhols are strongly influenced by the Velvet Underground, the Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles, the Shadows, and the Rolling Stones. They also include implicit musical references to My Bloody Valentine in some songs. Front man Courtney Taylor-Taylor describes the band's beginning as a group of friends who "needed music to drink to."
Bohemian Like You We Used To Be Friends The Dandy Warhols Love Almost Everyone You Were The Last High Cool band to chill out to. The Dandy Warhols are Sound came out in 2002, didn't it? As far as I'm concerned, they died when ...Earth to the Dandy Warhols... was released.
Dandy Warhols are Sound was released last year, it's pretty much a remake of Welcome to the Monkey House. Worth listening to both
