About a month and a half ago I treated myself to a new £500 road bike seeing as my 16 year old mountain bike was falling to pieces. Here is the bike:

Seeing as he usually treats things with care and helped me pay for the bike I let him use it for going to his gym/occasionally going to work. I use this bike every day for 1-2 hours, and I usually do a quick check of the bike before I go on it.
It first started with a load of scratches on the side of the forks after I had let my dad use it, I shrugged it off as wear and tear, and went on. The next day I found the front gears not working properly, which I got 3/4 working and shrugged it off once again. But the problems kept adding up, and now it's came to this:
-Lots of scratches and two massive chips in the paintwork.
-Two snapped gear cables.
-Missing gear tightening pin.
-Snapped cable guard.
-Broken cycle computer.
-Broken mud guards.
As well as numerous other problems.
It's currently at the bike shop being fixed, but what I do not get is that he managed to do no damage to his bike for 10 years, yet as soon as he gets hands on mine he fucks it up.
It would be a bit harsh to stop letting him use the bike all together, however I do not want another costly repair so does anyone have any suggestions regarding how I could stop him causing more damage?

It really wouldn't be harsh to tell him to get the fuck off your bike if he breaks it like that.
heheh, my dad just boxed my 600 $ trial bike and shipped it to a guy who bought it.
Coincidence!
Ask him what the fuck he was doing with your bike
Tell him to stop doing that.
Talk to him about it...
Headbutt him in the chest
just talk to him about it.
Ask him to drive a bit more carefully.
Every time I lend my bike to my dad something has been fixed :saddowns: .

Harsh but necessary.
He treats your stuff like shit. He shouldn't get the privilege to use it. If he wants to use it again make him foot the repair bill for treating it like crap.

I don't know about you, but I don't lend my stuff to people who break them.
Ask him what the fuck he does to damage it so much?
tell him to buy his own if he's gonna fuck everything up like that
Tell him he must pay for the repairs, I doubt he will damage it again if he realises he has to pay for it.
Snip
Op seriously ask what your dad is doing
Tell us
A £500 bike with no disc brakes?
whoop his ass
tell your dad that he needs to learn how to ride a bike
Cut off his arms and legs so that he will not have any use for a bike
Or alternatively, ask him to cover the cost of HIS damages
Tell him to buy a new one?
I agree with the people that say ask him to pay for the damages he's causing and if he denies it just put one of those sport cameras or something and see what he's doing.
If he keeps denying it, trash his car, or something precious of his.
Then blame it on a random man?
rape him bengay on balls etc
Or tell him either way.
Why is that dog working on the bike
thats a dog, not a human
what kind of bike is it being £500?

It has funky handlebars.
I haven't seen my dad in 7 years.
But thanks for the advice!
Cut brakes, he will never borrow again. Prob be dead.
Haven't I seen that picture before?
