MANCHESTER, N.H. (WHDH) -- A man’s getaway came to an abrupt end when he became impaled on a fence after allegedly trying to skip out on a restaurant bill. Part of the fence was removed because it had to be sent to the hospital with the man who was stuck on it. His leg was pierced by a spike as he tried to hop the fence. Police say he was then literally caught in the act of trying to run out of a bar after a fight over a bill. Firefighters found a man outside Manchester’s Hilton Garden Inn Saturday night balancing on one leg and the other leg was impaled by a fence. “He was actually in pretty good shape. He was texting and making phone calls. He was very cooperative,” said Lt. Max Chiasson, Manchester Fire Department. A dispute over a bar bill landed the man in the uncomfortable position, according to police, who say he had just fled the bar when he failed to clear the fence. It took eight firefighters to help free him. “There were a few moments where things were getting moved around. There were some power tools being operated. He cringed a few times but for the most part he was just like get me out of here,” said Lt. Chiasson. The man was sent to the hospital for surgery with 18 inches of fence still stuck in his leg. Even so, firefighters say the man was lucky considering where he landed. “He didn’t hit any arteries, any ligaments according to the hospital. And didn’t hit any bones either," said Lt. Chiasson. Firefighters say the man was in stable condition and recovering Sunday night. Lucky motherfucker.
Karma.
I always think "impaled" as in hot fuzz when the villain trips onto the replica.
I thought he got impaled and died. At least he didn't die, that would have been a nasty way to go.
He was lucky it did not hit anywhere major.
I thought he got impaled and died. At least he didn't die, that would have been a nasty way to go.
He's pretty much unharmed, none of the damage is permanent, he's extremely lucky.
My dad works for Manchester PD, I'm so disappointed he didn't tell me about this
Poor fence. I hope it's alright.
Poor fence. I hope it's alright.
That rust isn't gonna come out any time soon.
Karma fence.
Part of the fence was removed because it had to be sent to the hospital with the man who was stuck on it.
I hope they can remove the man and the fence will be alright. :(
I hope they can remove the man and the fence will be alright. :(
They already had to amputate part of it. It's lucky to be alive though. It could have been worse, the bartender could have got impaled in the fence, too. If it was a white picket fence then that probably would have meant the end for the poor thing. They suffer from a species-wide genetic defect causing allergies to bill disputes, and that wouldn't be good news.
Basically, since it didn't cause major damage, this is karma saying "Pay your bill next time, asshole."
I guess you could say that guy got his just deserts.
Karma.
"Man saves family only to have them watch him drown."
Reminds me of that kid in The Walking Dead. Spoilers
Reminds me of that kid in The Walking Dead. Spoilers
I expected something that bad but if he was balancing on one leg then it must not have been like that.
a bit harsh don'cha think!
the only thing i can think of is the story of the guy who got an iron fence, one of the ones with the spikes on it, stabbed through his asscheek
