Dolphin dies in Argentina after beach-goers pass it around for photos
An endangered dolphin was killed after beach-goers reportedly pulled it from the water in order to take photos with it.
The Franciscan dolphin died last week at the Santa Teresita resort in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after a scrum of people were photographed grabbing two or the marine animals out of the surf and passing them around.
Hernan Coria posted images on Facebook showing two dolphins being held aloft like trophies while grinning tourists were seemingly unaware or unbothered about the animals' discomfort.
Another photo showed at least one of the animals had been left on the sand to die.

Fucking savages
I just saw this on Facebook, pictures too, my heart fucking wretched
dumbasses
don't dolphins breathe air though? im assuming maybe they dried to death?
edit: yup
The Franciscan, like other species, cannot remain for much time out of the water. It has thick fatty skin which provides warmth, so the hot weather will cause rapid dehydration and death
Makes me wonder how they were raised to have them believe that was fucking okay.
I feel so fucking bad for the poor animal, not to mention that we are the world's laughingstock right now thanks to a few dumbasses.
I hope they at least got some sick selfies tho
Ignorance is one hell of a problem here.
How stupid do you have to be to pull an animal out of the ocean and pass it around for selfies?
How could you think this is an okay thing to do?
Poor dolphin :(
:snip: actually nvm. Poor dolphin tho
The assholes didn't even have the decency to put it back in the water.
Dolphins no longer have to fear sharks.
Just fucktards with cameras.

sharks with cameras
As if i didn't hate people enough, then we get this kinda shit.
I feel ill by just hearing the word "selfie", and now this shit.

They're just stupid. They saw a chance to get a picture of themselves with an exotic dolphin, or just to take pictures of the dolphin itself to show off later, one thing led to another, and now here we are.
People need to learn to put their fucking phones/cameras down and learn to leave shit alone and just enjoy its natural presence. You don't have to get a picture of everything in existence to show off to everybody (though honestly, if you just want to snap one or two without disturbing the peace, that's fine), you really don't have to get a picture of yourself in the process (which involves going out of your way to wrangle/intrude on whatever it is exactly you're photographing and agitating/harming it)... just leave stuff alone, watch it, enjoy it while you can, and learn to develop personal memory skills so you can look back on everything later and recall it to friends and family with fondness.
Instead, they killed an animal for no reason at all. Awesome job, guys. You're totally not a bunch of morons.
Jesus, it's sad when you hear about this first on Facepunch.
Fucking idiots, the things people do for just a picture of themselves.
Selfies are stupid as fuck.
great, so a baby dolphin is snatched from the water and dies so a bunch of vacuous cunts can get a new profile picture.
how can so many people not have seen the issue with what they were doing?

Selfies don't always involve taking a photo with a dying dolphin lol
Taking pictures of yourself is fine, do whatever you want, just don't hurt any animals, or people for that matter, while doing it
It's disgusting how out of the way people can put themselves or other living things in danger just to get a fucking picture.
Why the fuck do I even come back to sensationalist headlines...
Well, At least the police will be able to use this as proof and get them all convicted.
Dude getting a chance to save a beached dolphin is something I'd consider a fucking privilege and then there's these people
I'm jaded, man. I mean, I'm depressed!
I want to know how they managed to catch it.
Was someone hauling nets around? Are they experienced in hand-fishing porpoises?
Aw man, dolphins a really smart too.
Wouldn't they rather have a picture of these dolphins being happy and in their own environment? I mean if they were able to catch them wouldn't that imply they were close enough to take a picture then?
But as it seems these people were pretty goddamn stupid. I hope those selfies were worth it--idiots.
What a bunch of retards, besides if they wanted a pic with dolphins, why not fucking go to waterworld?

Ah, the anti-selfie circle emerges from FP's woodwork.
I mean, I totally agree with calling these guys ignorant assholes for killing the poor thing like that, but I'll never understand people's hate of selfies, let alone the obvious urge to let others know they have it.
