The New York State attorney general on Tuesday ordered the two biggest daily fantasy sports companies, DraftKings and FanDuel, to stop accepting bets from New York residents, saying their games constituted illegal gambling under state law.
The cease-and-desist order by the attorney general, Eric T. Schneiderman, is a major blow to a multibillion-dollar industry that introduced sports betting to legions of young sports fans and has formed partnerships with many of the nation’s professional sports teams. Given the New York attorney general’s historic role as a consumer-protection advocate, legal experts say the action will most likely reverberate in other states where legislators and investigators are increasingly questioning whether the industry should operate unfettered by regulations that govern legalized gambling.
“It is clear that DraftKings and FanDuel are the leaders of a massive, multibillion-dollar scheme intended to evade the law and fleece sports fans across the country,” Mr. Schneiderman said, adding, “Today we have sent a clear message: not in New York, and not on my watch.”
Hopefully other states follow suit and they get these god-awful commercials off my TV.
Good im tired of hearing their commercials
The amount of times these commercials get spammed during any sport event is beyond ridiculous. It was only a matter of time before this happened.

And even now in some of the damn analysis segments, you'll see "this halftime shit is sponsored by ShitKings, blah blah blah".
Good, they are just a fancy bookie and are circumventing anti-gambling laws through their own personal loophole
Hit the nail on the coffin of these god awful commercials.

I got so tired of Draft Kings that I made this to make myself feel better on the inside.
Fantasy Football is one thing but you aren't supposed to bet other than "Loser Buys us pizza"
Ever since this went into effect I haven't seen a commercial from them. Apparently their infomercials(as well as the 5+ minute long commercials that are slices of said infomercials) were pulled from late night TV here in New York as well.
I thank whatever deity that they totally stopped airing them and didn't just dub "not available in New York" into the commercials.
Here in Maryland it's legal (surprisingly) but they're making sure they are operating legally.
