So lately i realized my pc is kinda getting slow (badly). So i was wondering if i need to upgrade my cpu or mobo.. or both.
My vid card is fine (GeForce 260GTX)
~Processor~
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2Ghz Socket 939
~Mobo~
Amberine M
chipset Xpress 200
So i read the Wiki and it supports sockets ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xpress_200 )
939
754
and LGA 775
now i was looking into the LGA 775 ones ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_775 ) and i saw some good proc's there. So what should i do, whats the best course of action of upgrading my PC?. Cuz the rest of my hardware is fine (only thing left i need upgraded is HD 150gb)
Do i also need new RAM? i have 2gb DDR2
Please help, i wanna figure this out!

no motherboard supports both AMD and Intel processors. So you cannot upgrade to a socket 775 processor.
also that is the single most unbalanced build I have ever seen

So your saying, fuck my shit, go get a whole new pc?
yeah basically
What makes it an unbalanced build?
well I guess I was exaggerating, but it's still unbalanced and I will tell you why
weak CPU, slow RAM, very outdated motherboard
but you have a decent mid-range GPU, a monitor that doesn't seem to belong with the rest of your specs, and Windows 7 Ultimate.

what's your budget anyway? If it's ~$250 you can probably score a Athlon II x4 640, a decent AM3 mobo, along with 4GB DDR3 RAM
(assuming you have a decent PSU)

id Say my max is $200 (maybe) So what setup for around 200 or less would beat my my cpu/mobo and ram?
Do i really need new Ram? or is it passable for now?
I mean if you upgrade your motherboard might as well go DDR3 since the price of DDR2 has gone through the roof
make a thread in PC building, you'll get more help there
